I'm not sure how to explain this to those of you who haven't seen it. Watching this footage of Taylor and the band from the Warfield last night was amazing. I think that's a word that covers the entire hour and 20 minute concert. I'm hoping that whatever may have been dropped from the original concert pops up as additional footage on the DVD. The editing of the concert was good. There are many shots of the band and they certainly are given good air time. Taylor is, well, Taylor. Those of us that have seen him in concert know what I mean. He's his usual live performance self. You can tell that this is recorded near the end of the spring tour (probably the uneducated person wouldn't know this). His voice does seem a little tired but he goes through his set list with energy and unwavering passion for the music.
One specific performance that I do want to mention is his encore choice of The Fall. I am so glad he chose to do an acoustic number for this DVD. They captured every word, every breath, every sweat droplet of this song perfectly. Do I need to say more?
Finishing with Naked In the Jungle, leading into Higher, was perfect. He finishes with a dance on the speaker.
Would you expect anything less from Executive Producer Taylor Hicks?
