Hi!! It was great seeing so many of you in Millersville this past weekend.

We are starting a new project with Heroes for Children this month. As you will read - they provide financial assistance to families of children with cancer in Texas. A group of them attended Taylor's show in Dallas.

When the charity drive is over - they will be picking one lucky donor to win a copy of "Whomp at the Warfield" as soon as it is released!

Here is the information:

Taylor’s Angels and Heroes for Children

With the holiday season approaching, Taylor’s Angels is gearing up to help some very dear friends. Of course, Taylor Hicks has inspired in all of us a spirit of giving and compassion as we have witnessed his many acts of kindness to others as well as his own charitable giving. With Taylor’s generosity in mind, we hope that you will join us in our efforts to help others in need.

In our infancy stage, Taylor’s Angels researched the name and found an original “Taylor’s Angels” organization that was founded to provide social and financial assistance to families with children battling cancer. In our communications with this wonderful organization, it became apparent that we were somehow brought together by fate. Yes, it was fate that they had recently changed their name to “Heroes for Children”, which allowed us to become “Taylor’s Angels” and it was fate that we were in a position to help provide assistance to those children and families who are dealing with one of life’s greatest challenges.

Heroes for Children is a nonprofit organization providing financial and social assistance to families, within the state of Texas, with children (0-22 yrs of age) battling cancer. Formerly known as Taylor’s Angels, Heroes for Children was created in memory of Taylor Anne Brewton and Allison Leigh Scott.

With diagnosis comes the challenge to provide financially for the family. In order to provide constant care for their child, parents frequently lose or quit their jobs. The money Heroes for Children donates directly to families helps relieve some of the strain and stress during this difficult time in their lives. Whether it is to pay a medical bill, buy gas for the frequent trips to the hospital, or keep a family from having their electricity turned off, Heroes for Children is committed to helping families. There is no other organization that provides such versatility when it comes to financially assisting families.

In keeping with the spirit of the season, Taylor’s Angels is enlisting the assistance of the Soul Patrol to help Heroes for Children with needed items to provide families for the holidays. From now through November 21, you can purchase gift cards from Target or Wal-mart or make direct donations and the Soul Patrol will be recognized as a contributor to this worthwhile cause. Donations may be made through the Heroes for Children website at http://www.heroesforchildren.org or gift cards and checks may be mailed to the following address:

Heroes for Children
1701 North Collins, Suite 240
Richardson, TX. 75080
Attn: Soul Patrol

If you are interested in helping out this wonderful organization and need some additional information, please feel free to contact any of Taylor’s Angels personally or email us at taylors_angels@yahoo.com.

Remember to reference the Soul Patrol in your attached letter or in the memo line of your check. Heroes for Children will be keeping a tally of the amount raised by Taylor Hicks’ Soul Patrol and we will report it to you periodically throughout the upcoming weeks.

On November 21, Heroes for Children will draw a random name from all the donors. That donor will receive a copy of “ Whomp at the Warfield” as soon as it is released.

Taylor himself has helped many charities and individuals through giving of his time and talents. We hope that you will reach into your “souls” and help these precious children who are battling for their lives.
This sounds like a wonderful project Huggy I hope I'll be able to
donate to the cause. NESP is also doing something for local families
here, and I'm involved in stuff through my jobs as well but hopefully
I'll sell a house or two and can contribute! You guys have done some
wonderful things Heart

My state has a similar support system as part of the Maine Children's Cancer Program - so very needed especially in areas with large geographic areas necessitating a lot of expensive traveling.   A local family is heavily involved in the Maine program and has set up a foundation in their son's memory through which they do a major fundraiser every year.  There is also a local support program for currrent patients, survivors and their familes that depends on the financial support of area individuals and businesses.
I'm afraid my dance card for 2007 is filled with local & regional holiday needs but I wish you great success with the Texas program you have adopted for a Christmas project - I greatly admire the work that Taylor's Angels does especially with the children. Huggy
I agree! It's all about the children! I hope to be able to help out soon for everything going on!
Thanks for all your kind words. These families need our help especially during the holiday season - thanks for all that can contribute!
Just wanted to update that as of last week, the Soul Patrol has donated 500.00 in gift cards! This is wonderful!!! Thank you all. The drive runs until November 21st. If you go shopping even a 10.00 gift card helps them!! Thank you!Heart
cydter - that's wonderful that you've been able to collect so much! Best of luck!
We will be announcing the winner of the DVD and CD on Tuesday November 27th. This will give everyone who contributes this week a chance to get their names in! Thanks for all your support and help on this project NESP!!
