Charlie is a 28 year old indie singer/songwriter/guitarist, out there playing gigs and making a living like so many other independent artists. He has done some touring in the States and Europe, and has shared the stage with groups such as John Reischman & The Jaybirds, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Harry Manx, Colin James, Mick Taylor, Dave Hole, Sugar Blue, Procol Harum, Dan Aykroyd and Ron Sexsmith. He will be opening for the Marshall Tucker band in Spindale, NC on November 12, 2007.
Charlie is the recipient of many music awards including East Coast Music Awards in 2002 – Best Blues Artist, and in 2007 – Best Pop Recording
“What?” you say! Blues and pop? Charlie has been quoted as saying his music is “adult contemporary with blues leanings”, and by a reviewer from the High Country News in Blowing Rock, NC as “blues-tinged soul pop”. (Source – news articles from Charlies website, linked below.)
One might wonder whether this meets the criteria to be considered “Modern Whomp” ? Does it? You can decide for yourself.
The party will get started around 7:30PM Central time, and Charlie will be joining the party in progress to talk with us about his music, and answer your questions. You will be able to listen to selections from Charlie’s current album, “Bring On The Storm, and well as jewels plucked from his first album “Color Me Gone”.
In addition, Whomp Radio will be broadcasting Charlie’s two independent releases prior to the party on Monday afternoon, 1:00 to 3:00PM, Central time, with repeat broadcasts during the party, and on Tuesday, November 6th, also 1:00 to 3:00PM Central.
