Thought it would be cool to see some musicians' websites that are
well done. HighfiveMight give ideas for future on your site, or just be interesting to look at...Everyone can add the ones they find that are worth mentioning...Haha

http://www.billyredfield.com New artist, heavy into internet marketing. If
you sign up for his mailing list you get just enough emails to hold
your interest without feeling spammed. His emails are also always
addressed to you by name which feels personal, even if it's mass
mailed. He's also constantly looking into new networking sites.

http://www.johnmayer.com Always a great site-neat blogs, music samples,
upcoming info (and check out that cruise Taylor!!) Your worst nightmare trapped on a boat with the SP w00t but we'd pay $$ and
it would be fun we promise w00tbounce
Martin Sexton, an artist I'm really getting into. His site is clean, easy to use and informative. Funny thing, he'll be on that cruise with Mayer in February!

The message board format is a bit of a pain, there's no archiving and everything disappears after a week or so (slides off the bottom, really). But the rest of it is really pretty and has plenty of multimedia goodies. Oh, and Brian comes on and chats every once in a while. I remember around this time about 5, 6 years ago, we happened to be on at the same time and I got several burning questions answered. Grin I'm still not sure why he was on at that time of day, but... I ain't complaining!
Mari: Brian's website is very classy, and I learned that he will be a Kennedy Center honoree. A great and well deserved honor!

(others are Steve Martin, Diana Ross, Martin Scorcese, and concert pianist Leon Fleisher).
Seems we have varied tastes in website designs - - wow, imagine that Grin

I prefer Martin Sexton's of those listed so far.

Makes me think of Toby Lightman's old site which I also liked - - the new one seems rather bland but probably easier to maintain
http://www.tobylightman.com/

Her official fansite picks up some of the slack - - but the designer obviously subscribes to the no micrometer of space shall go unused school - pretty much just check tour dates and run
http://www.tobylightman.net
Charlie A'Court 's site appeals to me for its clean lines and simple navigation.

http://charlieacourt.com/

Everything I want to know is pretty much covered and easy to find - including concert date archives which is something I like to have for reference.
Also appreciate that I chose to start the player - really dislike having music blast at me the second a site opens.

And since am seeing him and GPN next Saturday - I may as well dissect their site in this post too

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals : http://gracepotter.com/index.php

GPN's site has very recently been revamped and it has some neat new features but is still pretty easy to navigate.

Some things aren't immediately obvious - like having to figure out to click on the pictures in the About the Band section to get the individual bios.
And the official fan forum information is no longer a prominent link - - there is a link to the public message board at the bottom - -
but information about the official fansite - or in their case street team - is kind of hidden in the Promote tab.
Guess I question whether someone checking GPN out online is going to click on something that says Promote . . . ? ?

Clean, simple and classy. Discovered this site after seeing him last week. No automatic playing of music, which I actually like. There is an mp3 player as well, and right now it's highlighting music from his "Suitcase" CD.

James Taylor

Visually pleasing site. Great pictures of JT greet you on each of the pages. He has a nice monthly newsletter feature as well.
