Some of you may not regularly venture into the General Discussion Forum but there are some interesting Topics in that area.
For one thing there is a relatively new repeating thread designed to be a Daily Chat

http://www.newenglandsoulpatrol.org/mybb...php?fid=19

The title of the thread will look like this example :
Daily Chat   month   date    Celebrate the Date

The first post will tell what the "holiday" is and can be a conversation starter but is just for fun - -
off-topic and hi-jacking welcomed.  Grin

The daily thread is intended to be - -
- a place to simply check in with other people from the board
- a place to bring a casual conversation that starts in another thread but is off-topic there
- a thread that is comfortable and fun for everyone, including the  casual visitor,  who drops by for a visit  -
and yes that is a hint   Roll Eyes

That is pretty much it - - have fun !
If you are a member with questions,  always feel free to use the PM feature and contact a Moderator or
LuvTayNH.  The PM button in any post made by the person is the easiest way to do that.

Some general information about thread netiquette that applies for any board or blog you may visit  - - -
Most threads are started for informational and discussion purposes that are topic specific.
> When unrelated comments pop up it is referred to as being "Off-topic"
> If that side conversation grows and takes over so that the original purpose is buried then the thread is said to be "Hi-jacked".

Many of the spontaneous conversations are also good information or just plain fun and no one wants to discourage them.  But sometimes it so obscures the original topic as to make the thread useless which can be somewhat frustrating.
So consider these options when you find yourself veering off course - -

>  If there is a genuine new topic to pursue then a new thread can be started and the conversation moved to it.
You can even ask a mod to move some posts if you would like to keep them together.

> If it is just some fun chit-chat then hop on over to the Celebrate the Date thread to continue your conversation.

If you are a visitor
and would like to learn more about the nature of this warm and accepting community of Taylor's fans,  the General Discussion area may help you with that.
But in a nutshell - -
NESP is a regional group that came about because some people who met at the Portland, Maine,  2006 Idol concert decided that, beyond our mutual interest in Taylor Hicks and his music, we liked each other enough to stay in touch.  Due to the generosity and hard work of LuvTayNH and her "partner in crime" UHadMeAtWooHoo, the organization evolved and the website of New England Soul Patrol is here for you to enjoy today.

But don't let the regional name of the site mislead you, we have members from many other areas.  They may have some link to the northeast or just like the nature of our community and share our common interest.   Taylor is the centerpiece of this site and we actively work to advance the career of this incredibly gifted musician.  Beyond his obvious talent there is another reason to admire this young man, Taylor has shown himself time and again to be a positive person who cares about people and treats others with acceptance and respect.

The philosophy of  NESP can be summed up in the same way
> appreciate the music
> appreciate the artist
> appreciate each other

Everyone who wants to be part of a place designed to be accepting, supportive and positive for each other and for Taylor as he grows his career is welcome here.
