We'd like to do some kind of charity tie in to get more advertising for
NESP and Taylor. Does anyone have anything they're involved in
locally? There's a cool place here called A Baby Center that always
needs help-they have free supplies, classes, etc. for new moms that aren't able to go it alone. That would be a great cause but open to all ideas. We could sell hats or something and have everyone bring
something they could use towards the efforts...(lol a new meaning
to bring your own bottle Rotfl) Like an NESP baby shower for them.
Here's their website....

The third “Celebrate Success Award” is presented to Dianne Casey Lee of the Council of Churches: A Baby Center. A Baby Center provides emergency and critical basic needs as well as 6 seasonal outfits on a monthly basis. Income eligibility is the WIC standard. This past Monday 80 babies were served. A Baby Center received a grant from Cape Cod Foundation to continue to purchase expendables (such as diapers, baby wipes, etc.). Donations consist of cribs, car seats, clothes etc. Moms also receive support services. The program has grown beyond expectations. To donate please call the Council of Churches at the Federated Church in Hyannis at 508 771-8157 or mail to PO Box 758 Hyannis, MA 02601
Oh, Liz...this sounds like a great idea! Might be nice to collect enough to purchase a crib and/or car seat?
Maine has a program to help with car seats and it is based on income - seems resonable to believe Mass would have something similar doesn't it ??

Like this idea Liz - good find
Love this idea!
Unless anyone objects to this idea, let's run with it. I think if we support local charities near the events we attend it helps to get Taylor's name out more and we can make donations in his honor for
good PR for him Heart We can take turns helping people in different states.

What I pictured is to pick up a second hand porta crib or playpen
and decorate it. Have everyone that attends our preparties contribute
a little baby something (I'll get a list of most needed items) like
diapers, bottles, etc. and then sell an NESP item and have proceeds
after costs be donated for wherever they need it most. We could
collect items in Cohasset while we're killing time in the parking lot
and in Hyannis at wherever the preparty or lunch is. The place is
right in Hyannis so we can load up my car and I can drop it off to
them. I also will look at yard sales, consignment stores and see if
I can find items that will fit the cause. Should be easy, fun, and what's
a better cause than babies??? Huggy
I'll check with my sister. She might have some "castoffs" by June that we can bring along to donate to the cause.
An added plus, baby shopping is fun!
Baby shopping is fun!! The woman from the center called and is
thrilled we're considering making them our project. Playing phone
tag now, but definitely a positive response from them Heart
it all sounds good! Liz if you can assign us things from the list to pick up, that works just fine for me.
I'll try to get a list of the top small things they'd like so we can split
them up and not duplicate-will keep it in this thread as I get info. Will
also let Karen know so she can include the cause in her media stuff...
