(margaux's note): Liz had a great idea, that we all write to Meadowbrook and urge them to consider booking Taylor in 2008. So I'm bumping and moving the thread (sounds more exciting than it is ) to get some interest going.

I get this email every year.  It's fun to vote, and it gives me some idea of who might be coming by this summer.    Taylor was NOT on the list.  

So then I had to figure out who to vote for.  My other two favorite artists, Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne were also missing.  I then decided I wanted to vote for someone who I had never seen before (which eliminates James Taylor, Alison Kraus, Jethro Tull, and others) and who might actually have a shot at getting booked (alas that eliminated Crowded House, which I would love...)  

So I voted for Keith Urban, and I guess everyone else did too.
Somehow I missed Van Morrison, but glad he got votes, awesome if he got booked (I can think of a good opening act for Van the Man..)

Nice list! I think NESP should just all write to Meadowbrook and
request Taylor. If they got around 100 emails they might consider
asking him!

I love doing your poll every year.
However, I noticed that Taylor Hicks was not on your list. He would be a great addition to the 2008 lineup. New England loves Taylor Hicks. He drew fine crowds to Hampton Beach Casino on a snowy date in April, and Concord's Capitol Center in August, and also sold out 2007 shows in Portland Maine, and Boston's Avalon.

In 2007 Taylor travelled with a six-piece band of road veterans that rocked the house with a blend of rock, soul and blues that keeps the crowd on their feet all night.

Taylor's loyal fans, the Soul Patrol will travel from all over the Northeast and beyond to Gilford to see the show. There would be no better showcase for the talent than under the stars at Meadowbrook. Thank you for adding Taylor to your list of artists to consider for the 2008 season.

I just emailed them too, but it wasn't half as eloquent I do
think if they get a lot of emails it might make them at least look into
the possibility. (provided of course that it would work for Taylor )
