I just got a (recorded) message on the machine from Matt Ryan asking me to come down to Jacksonville on Dec. 1 to cheer on the BC Eagles to win the ACC Championship! Too bad I can't travel to FL but I will be watching on TV!


This football excitement has me thinking.....I gave Taylor a Patriots hat in Concord and he probably has no intention of ever wearing it but if the Pats make it to the SuperBowl I will change my signature and remind him about that hat!

Well nobody gives a rat's a$$ about this but I will have a party for myself in this thread!

BC ended a 15 game losing streak against Miami yesterday and beat them at home for the first time since 1975!

Next Sat. they play Virginia Tech for the ACC championship. Matt Ryan is closing in on many of Doug Flutie's records that have stood at the school for 22-23 years....I was in my second year when the Doug Flutie magic and mayhem ensued so this is very exciting for me! Fond memories of tailgating and victory parties and being completely boy crazy!

Hey Seger! I actually did watch most of that BC game yesterday...it was a great game. I take it you went to BC? I was (and remain) a big Doug Flutie fan, particularly during his Patriot years.

Do you know Matt Ryan personally? Too bad you can't go....I'd offer to go with you if I could...we could take a side trip to Birmingham...

Yes, I graduated from BC in 1987 and my closest friend had a massive crush on Doug (still does!) and she asked for his autograph at a campus restaurant before the team left for the Cotton Bowl...neither had a pen, so he used my pen on a napkin for hers but I did not ask him for an autograph. Taylor is the only person I have ever asked for an autograph!
I don't know Matt Ryan....it was a recorded message that must have gone out to all alumni...cool marketing though!

So last week I am getting over my upset about Boston College football and DH calls and says "I found out which Bowl BC is playing"
I say "What is it?"
DH: "The Champs Bowl"
Me: having never heard of it I say "What kind of a crap Bowl is that?"
DH: laughs and replies "They are playing Michigan State!"
Guess who went to Michigan State?

So....our teams are playing each other...it won't be pretty if BC loses to MSU...
