Please pick ONE....instead of "neither" pick the one that you think would cause you the least pain to sit through! Grin

Carly Simon or Linda Ronstadt
Linda Ronstadt

If I was to name one concert that had the biggest impact on my life, it would be a double bill of Linda R and Jackson Browne in 1974 .. both on the verge of breaking out huge. And no one can f*cking sing like Ronstadt. She can sing anything, from operetta to mariachi. And does. Have seen her at least 4 more times over the years.
I admire Carly a lot. I hear she has horrible stage fright. Linda doesn't have a lot of stage personality. But she sings well enough it's not important.

Marc Broussard or Paul McCartney
Paul McCartney

Best $125 I ever spent on concert tickets.. Amazing crowd energy. I've heard Mr. Broussard is very good, but he was never a Beatle.

REO Speedwagon or Journey
Journey

Willie Nelson or Tim McGraw
Willie Nelson

No contest. Like Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, Willie is one of the great American voices. No one sounds like him. Just saw him tonight on Eric Clapton's Crossroads PBS show, sings great for an old guy.
Toby Lightman or Britney Spears (I can't wait to see the comments Wink)
Toby

The Killers or Dave Matthews Band
Dave Matthews

who are the killers? Always liked what Dave does with rhythm, laying down the groove.
U2 or Duran Duran
U2

Never did like the Duran singer.. Didnt get U2 for a long long time, till I figured out it's not Bono's pompous vocals that makes this band good, it's the guitar and the sound. ONE is one of the top 10 singles of past 20 years.

Janet Jackson or Carrie Underwood
Carrie

Janet cant sing, Carrie can.

The Police or Rolling Stones
Police

Beyonce or Gwen Stefani
Beyonce

Black Eyed Peas or Santana
Santana

Ricky Martin or Julio Iglesias
Ricky Martin

Josh Groban or Elliott Yamin
Elliott

Davey Jones or David Cassidy
Davy Jones

Saw the Monkees a few years ago, Davy's Oliver medley was fun. The Monkees had the best songwriters in the US writing for them --Neil Diamond, Carole King, among others. Daydream Believer is one hell of a song. The Partridge Family did not have any good songs.

Matchbox Twenty or 50 Cent
Matchbox Twenty

Michael Jackson or Sanjaya Malakar Rotfl
Michael Jackson (still one of the most talented artists of my lifetime, as well as one of the most tragic)

Amy Winehouse or The Pussycat Dolls
Amy

Taylor Hicks or Justin Timberlake Tongue
Taylor..  tho I have seen him a few times, so maybe I should think it over Rotfl

Now that you bring it up, D*ck in a Box is the funniest song I've heard in a long time. I bet JT doesnt do it in concert tho....

They are "new" comparatively speaking - only around  5 or 6 years I think.  Made their aquaintance during RockStar INXS because of this song done by Marty Casey.  Found a live version of it - - -

The Killers - Mr. Brightside
There is a very elaborate video too
http://youtube.com/watch?v=BnwLf88t_Wc

Find that one interesting but they have others I much prefer Cool

Rather like this one
The Killers- Somebody Told Me

And this one
The Killers - Read My Mind

And this - -  wasn't aware of this - - reading the comments it looks like they are still exploring - - and that to me is always a good thing !
The Killers feat. Lou Reed - Tranquilize

I actually own a CD by The Killers. I love Mr. Brightside and Somebody Told Me.
Thanks for the primer! I realize I've heard that Mr.Brightside song, and Somebody Told Me..
It's one of those bands I've heard but never had enough curiosity to figure out who they were.

The songs are very good power pop, would love to hear this more on the radio.
But I still prefer Dave Matthews because of the musical and rhythmic complexity.

This is the first DM song that got my attention, the groove is good, the fiddle and sax very nice:
Ants Go Marching

Did anyone see Josh Groban on the Rockefeller Tree Lighting special last night? He was good & cute, too. Smile
Speaking of Josh Groban, I just read that his appearance on Oprah (Christmas CD) pushed his new release to #1 for the week on Billboard and they mentioned that Jordin Sparks has had the worst first week sales of any Idol winner. Her single is doing well on iTunes however.

Oprah is having some big country artists on tomorrow (Friday) including Rascal Flatts....for all my fellow RF fans on this site! Huggy
