No, not Taylor... Unfortunately...

BUT, while at work, I listen to WEBE108, and I happened to catch the beginning lyrics to a GREAT song:

Quote:
Met my old lover in the grocery store
The snow was falling Christmas Eve
I stole behind her in the frozen foods
And I touched her on the sleeve

She didn't recognize the face at first
But then her eyes flew open wide
She went to hug me and she spilled her purse
And we laughed until we cried.

We took her groceries to the checkout stand
The food was totalled up and bagged
We stood there lost in our embarrassment
As the conversation dragged.

We went to have ourselves a drink or two
But couldn't find an open bar
We bought a six-pack at the liquor store
And we drank it in her car.

We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness
But neither one knew how.

She said she'd married her an architect
Who kept her warm and safe and dry
She would have liked to say she loved the man
But she didn't like to lie.

I said the years had been a friend to her
And that her eyes were still as blue
But in those eyes I wasn't sure if I saw
Doubt or gratitude.

She said she saw me in the record stores
And that I must be doing well
I said the audience was heavenly
But the traveling was hell.

We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness
But neither one knew how.

We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to time
Reliving in our eloquence
Another 'auld lang syne'...

The beer was empty and our tongues were tired
And running out of things to say
She gave a kiss to me as I got out
And I watched her drive away.

Just for a moment I was back at school
And felt that old familiar pain
And as I turned to make my way back home
The snow turned into rain --

YES!
It was "Same Old Lang Syne"!!! Woohoo Thud

I could not say anything to the guy who sits near me, as he would not appreciate where it would eventually lead to... Sad
Somehow ( Grin ) I think I have bored him talking about Taylor pretty much 24/7... Roll Eyes

'Tis the season...we should be hearing it alot these days! Now we'll
think of Taylor each time Heart

I've heard this a couple of times recently...

Each time I have to stop & take a deep breath...

Wonder if that reaction will ever cease?
I hear it about 3 times a day! Alittle over kill on the radio here. It's such a touching but Sad song too. Sad
"Same Ole Lang Syne" is Christmas radio fare...but GUESS WHO I HEARD WHILE BROWSING IN OUR LOCAL DOLLAR TREE (yes, where everything is a dollar) STORE---Taylor's version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"...first, I couldnt believe it was him and then I wondered HOW and WHERE could I get a copy of it on CD??? So, I knocked on the manager's door and asked it the music was CD...she said no, it was piped in via their satellite with the main ofcs of Dollar Tree Stores, which is in Cheasepeak, VA.

It totally was him! Cant mistake that voice!! Pretty cool that he was on Dollar Tree radio!
Wow - that's amazing! You're sure it was him!?!

Cool

I'm going to Dollar Tree Saturday Grin
There are companies that offer a subscription service so that the end users don't have to deal with BMI or ASCAP on the royalties issues.  From the reports of hearing Taylor in places like Lowes, Target, Home Dept., a myriad of grocery stores and restaurants - it seems safe to assume he has contracted with one or more of those suppliers. - - and yes Muzak still lives - lol

So the question is this - -
since the little bit that was just Santa Claus ICTT would be kind of short - - was it the entire medley from the TNT special last year ?

or was it a new recording he did for use by the subscription company ? ?
I'm very happy to report that while I was at Foxwoods casino over the weekend and heard JTFTW,Heaven Knows and DMA,numerous times both days.He sounded amazing through the casino.I'm glad that they are still playing his music !

It was a new version that he recorded for the subscription version...thats why I wasnt sure if it was him because it as the entire song...but it was him,,,that Im sure about. At first I thought it may have been Bob Seger, but after really listening to it, it was him...his voice is unmistakable. ((GET EXCITED!!Woohoow00tbounce))
