Mandisa was also nominated for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album.
Fantasia received several, Carrie and "Before He Cheats" several, and Kelly Clarkson received a nomination for her "Because of You" duet with Reba McIntyre.

It's a feather in your cap if you are nominated or win, but no slight if you are not. With veteran performers like Springsteen, Bon Jovi, and Paul McCartney in the running, and "critical darlings" like Feist and Amy Winehouse, it's all a crapshoot anyway.
I saw them announce some of them at noontime on the LA Fox station (recorded, of course).  I like George Lopez's comment about Amy Winehouse's nomination for "Rehab".

"Would someone wake her up at about 6 this afternoon and let her know she was nominated?"

Sad, but true. Haha

Margaux & I have been saying all along that it would be nice to see Ace nominated for a grammy. I wonder what he'll wear to the ceremony...Grin
Amy:  I've been wondering if they'll try to have a duet with Amy W and Britney S.  Fear

Once I realized that Taylor was most likely out of the running -- and got over it -- my top wish was for Ace to get a songwriting nomination.
You know he'll be a hit on the red carpet.
If not wearing it he'd have a beanie in his pocket for sure! They don't know what they are missing without Tay! Sad
Am I missing something?
I do not see Ace on this list......
Hey, Grims!

Ace's REAL name is Brett, and he got a co-writing nod for #4's "It's Not Over"...
Awesome news!!!!w00tbounce  Congrats to Chris & Ace (one of my favorite people)!!!Huggy Highfive

I'm glad you are over it....unfortunately, I am not Sad

I figure Taylor will have many more chances over the years...

Here's some perspective on the Grammys regarding a rock legend....Mr. Bob Seger:
1961 began music career at age of 16
1968 signed with major record label Capitol Records
1974 formed the Silver Bullet Band
Oct. 1976 (nice month and year Grin) first big national/commercial success with release of Night Moves
1980 Against The Wind...first and only #1 album on Billboard 200 and won his ONLY Grammy for it in 1981.

There you have it....a man whose career has lasted 26+ years and is still heard daily on radio and a member of the R&R Hall of Fame yet has only won one Grammy.

Taylor has so much talent and the respect of so many fine musicians....his time WILL come....mark my words. Huggy
