Billboard's end of year report rates Taylor #70 of all artists who had charting albums in 2007. That's quite an accomplishment.

We've read that the album Taylor Hicks was #74 for 2007. Taylor is higher on the artists chart because several charting artists (Rascal Flatts, Josh Groban, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley for instance) had multiple charting albums.
Taylor sold more CDs in 2007 than critical favorites The White Stripes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Killers, Dixie Chicks, Alison Krauss, Chris Brown, Paul McCartney and Joss Stone, among many others.
The only Idols who did better were Daughtry, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson (#63 with 2 charting albums).
Congratulations Taylor
