You have a fantastic list of videos on uTube, Taysharmonica! Thank you so much! I just purchased a video downloader called Quivic and am so happy now. I've got your vids and others. Someday I'll make a DVD of taylor's NE tour.

Wasn't he wonderful here! I bought a mini-harmonica at the merchandize counter and can make 8 notes on it. Wow! Do you play?
Sorry it took so long, but here is my Dad's recap!!!

Taylor Hicks Concert

On August 10 I attended my first Taylor Hicks concert. In fact, it was a first time experience at a concert of this type. I’m used to Broadway musicals and classical music concerts. This was out of my league.

I was really impressed with the entire production. Not just the music; but also the talent of all the performers, their personalities and the overall stage production. It made me believe they were really enjoying what they were doing and only too happy to share it with the audience. And my feeling was that the audience was returning that enjoying feeling in spades.

Taylor was the star, but the band really made it work. I especially appreciated the musician that played the sax, flute and clarinet. He was something else. I laughed when the drummer, with a big grin, threw his broken sticks at someone backstage. And the fellow playing bass guitar was also someone that made an impression on me.

Oh, I almost forgot - Taylor Hicks! Now he is some performer. Hearing him live gave me a new appreciation of his vocal talent. That, along with his moves on stage and also playing other instruments, gave me a new appreciation of his abilities.

I also want to mention the warm up group. They were a really professional band who just might go on be famous in their own right. And I also thought Taylor’s soundman was worth watching. Between acts, he tuned every guitar on the stage, did all kind of sound checks and testing of electronic equipment, monitored the sound during the performance, and hustled back and forth to Taylor with different guitars. Now that guy deserves credit.

To be honest, I enjoyed the performance more that I thought I would and just might (maybe) go with Gretchen to another Taylor Hicks concert.

Dad & I went out to dinner the following Friday (8/17), and I asked him what did he think about Taylor, and we had a fairly lively/animated discussion about the concert...
We actually had to ask our waitress if she had some notepaper and if we could borrow one of her pens so we could take some notes!
I know that the notes are around here somewhere, so we will see what we can do with them, and I will post them up here, hopefully sooner than what it took me to post Dad's original recap...

Thanks mm for the recap from your dad! You're lucky - my dad would never ever attend anything like this with me. Well actually, I stand corrected...he might if Taylor would come closer than 3 hours away from where we live. Here's to a show in Bangor, Maine next summer at the new casino! Smile

Look forward to hearing from your "notes" too...

Oh, what a HORRIBLE way to end a wonderful weekend, with that accident, and extremely glad to hear that YOU are ok...
As someone already stated, that "'Yes, the car can be replaced, but you definitely cannot be...'"

Hey, PearlPattie!
If you want to forward the photos to me, I can resize them for you...

So sorry to hear that you are not feeling up to snuff, and get better soon!

mm,Dad's recap was well worth the wait. He's an inspiration for all who are unsure about experiencing something new.He went with an open mind and came away with a new found appreciation for Taylor and the band ! I am so glad I had the honor of meeting your Dad,he is a gentleman in every sense of the word !

That is one reason why I WANTED him to write up a recap, just because he WAS going to experience something new...

Little did I realise HOW something new it was going to be (his FIRST pop/rock concert at 71 years old!?), OMG...

He had a blast in meeting all of you, and hopefully all of us (Dad too)can do something like this again!

Thought you gals might like to see this if you havent already. Listen to Taylor at the beginning of this vid. Kinda get us ready. He really does like it up here. Good clip of BEHM at the end. This is right up there for me with the Concord show.
