Hi all,

I thought I would share my experience with all of you at my first Taylor concert. It is in two parts.

Hi Everyone!!

Finally April 6 came rolling in just like any other day but to all the people going to Foxwoods Im certain it felt like Christmas morning. As I opened my eyes yesterday morning I was ecstatic that the long months of waiting would be just a memory and the reality of seeing Taylor was only a few hours away.

Zap, Taylor15,Sheila,Taylorchick,ARenee and I met in the Box Office area at 5:30 and we had our own little M&G. Zap and Taylorchick went in to the M&G while the rest of us eagerly waited for Zap's recap of her encounter. I'll let her tell you about that.....Taylor was in a room off to the side of the theater entrance and there were 2 very official looking gentlemen guarding the area where the M&G people would exit once they finished their brief time with Taylor. Luckily there was a small window off to the side of the exit door where I could peek in and see Taylor. Let me tell you, as I'm writing this I'm getting chills. The man is GORGEOUS!!!If you think he's sexy on the videos and pictures, seeing him in the flesh is simply breathtaking!!
He seemed very relaxed and cordial to all the lucky fans that stole a few minutes of his time. Some of them brought little gifts for him, one lady presented him with an Easter basket! He was chewing gum and kept leaning back in his chair and at one point I was sure he was going to topple backwards! Keep in mind that I was watching this through the little open area on the side panel window and I was crouching or kneeling! Talk about bowing down to your Idol, LOL....The M&G took perhaps about
40 minutes. As I watched Taylor's interaction with his fans, I was struck by how comfortable and down to earth he is, perhaps even a little shy. It's as if he can't even comprehend the magnitude of his success. He got up and left the room but I couldn't see where he went because of my limited view.
We still had time before the show, so we decided to grab a bite to eat and walked to a nearby deli restaurant. Afterwards we went back to the Box Office area where a large table was set up for Taylor's merchandise, T-shirts, CD's and coffee mugs. I bought UTR and a T-shirt and noticed that many fans took advantage of this opportunity and purchased several items.

The Concert..........

After making our purchases we got in line and entered the theater. It's not a huge concert hall holding approximately 1500 people so the stage to me seemed enormous. As we walked in the first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful red curtain that was shielding whatever was behind it from our view. Maybe Taylor practicing his last minute dance moves! People that have been to Foxwoods said that every seat is good and they were somewhat right. We were seated in Row P so we still had 8 rows behind us. Our view of the stage was good but I kept on wondering how Taylor would look from our vantage point. At that point I would have given almost anything to be in the first few rows so I could see the sweat and OTHER things on Taylor, if you know what I mean.
The opening act before Taylor was a female singer named Toby Lightman(Hope I have the right name) with her back-up band. I must admit she put on a good show and I liked her voice, very clear and strong. But I wanted Taylor, we all did!! You could feel the anticipation in the air as we knew Toby was ending her last song. Finally after a little intermission, Taylor was next!
The curtains parted and his band was on-stage beginning the intro to Soul Thing. What electricity!!The lights were playing catch me if you can on stage and every color in the rainbow was reflected off, across and into the audience. As the band was moving and grooving one's eyes kept on darting to each musician trying to savor the wonderful melodies coming from their instruments. But Taylor still was not on stage, this was a teasing and we couldn't take much more of it. Several women could be heard crying out "Taylor, Taylor" and still the band played on without him. The lights on stage seemed to be even more brilliant with colors merging, circling and merging again to the beat of the music.
Suddenly to our left a tall figure snakes his way on stage. That beautiful hair is turned everey color of the rainbow because the lights are upon it,
Taylor has finally arrived!!
He wastes no time and begins his song and the audience goes wild!!
The most memorable songs for me were, Run Baby Run, Heart and Soul, Somehow and Takin' It To The Streets. Heart and Soul and Somehow was simply so unbelievable that one felt totally mesmerized by Taylor's passion, every fiber of his being was put into those songs and the audience felt the energy spilling from Taylor to every section and row in the theater. No one was missed!
What I loved watching is the great interaction, almost a playfullness that exists between Taylor and his band.
The Runaround was his last song (we thought it was) and it was one of the best that I have heard, it was extremely difficult not to jump up on my seat and start dancing like the bananas but I thought I'd lose all control if I did that and I'd be taken out and banned from the theater forever.
By now, Taylor was soaked in perspiration but he still looked as sexy as ever in his blue jeans, grey shirt and dark blazer. Oh, I need a drink!!
Anyway when Taylor left the stage with his band after singing The Runaround, we thought that was it. Everyone is on their feet clapping, WHOOOOING, and calling out Taylor's name while we gaze on an empty crimson stage. We were rewarded.
Taylor comeas back with his entourage and starts the first bars of TITTS, now even more screaming can be heard but finally it decreases somewhat and we let Taylor do his thing, and he did!
The applause was amazing, everyone was on their feet and did not want to let the night end.....but it did and WHAT A NIGHT!!!!

I am finally a happy camper!!!!
Awesome recap!! Felt like I was there along with you. LOL on kneeling down peeking in...he's brought us all to our knees Thud

Very nice pics!!!
That's an awesome place to see a concert, huh?
Thanks, AllyKat!

Foxwoods is a nice place for a concert, I must admit, but it sort of (more than sort of!) stunk that Taylor's fans had seats so far away from the stage Sad , and that Foxwoods had a "No Standing" rule, which makes it rather difficult for dancing Dancer ...
