Hi everyone, it's been awhile. I lurk quite often, just haven't posted.

I was just reading some entertainment news and it just struck me - isn't it a shame that Britney S and Amy W are practically throwing away their careers while someone like Taylor has to scratch and claw to get his music out there?  

I guess sometimes you can be too rich and famous.  Look where it got these ladies.  

I don't wish that for Taylor - just wish for a little recognition of his talent.

Britney's face and story are everywhere lately. Our priest even mentioned her at mass today. I think she had untreated post partum depression which has led to psychosis of some sort...just my opinion. She will end up like Anna Nicole...dying young, refusing help because she refused to admit she had a problem.

Taylor seems to be a big fan of Amy Winehouse and she could have a huge world wide music career....revolutionary....but she is an addict and may end up doing hard time or 6 feet under as well. It will be interesting to see if she shows up to accept at the Grammy's because I have a feeling she will win at least one.

I do not understand people like this...I know drugs are prevalent in the music scene but they are throwing their lives and talent away.

I give Taylor credit for pulling himself away from that scene...as he wrote in HFOS he looked old and was unhealthy and decided to change before it was too late. Smart man.

the stars with problems and addictions get all the attention. What is
that saying to the children watching and reading?

Meanwhile, people like Taylor and some of the star athletes are doing
tons for charity and they barely get a mention. Make the world a
better place-no press. Contribute to the chaos-front page It's
enough to make you crazy

If it was up to me, when these young women get busted, part of their punishment should be No Media Attention for sixty days.. they probably couldn't stand it.

It must be a challenge for parents to keep steering their children to the entertainers who are positive role models .. even the High School Musical kids have had minor scandals.

Take heart that musicians who are acclaimed for their artistry do NOT generally get much notice in the celebrity press. Unless, like John Mayer, they like to date celebrities and starlets.. and Jessica Simpson dumped him because he wanted her to be LESS visible.
Taylor's reputation will benefit from avoiding this sort of publicity.

Yes I agree, I want Taylor noticed by the media and by his peers for his muscianship......certainly not wild antics.

I guess I just despise the fact that artist like BS and AW are literally throwing great careers to hell - especially when so many young talents are hoping and praying to just somehow make it in the music business.

I believe Taylor has his head on straight and he seemingly has a plan. Good for him. May he never have megastar success if it means lifestyle becomes more important than music.

I hope and pray that Taylor never gets so deep into that Hollywood scene.

I really want to believe that he wouldnt be stupid enough to get involved w/Hollywood that deeply. Even though he hasnt always been an angel, I think (hope) that he appreciates his music more than that. When it comes right down to it, he is just a "good ole" soul man.

Am I misguided?
