The ukulele music is lovely! thanks Kim! HeartHuggy

You may not know that George Harrison was one of the foremost ukulele players and collectors in the world.. When I saw Paul McCartney in 2002, he played "Something" in tribute to George, using one of George's ukes.

I would LOVE Haha to see LOVE in Vegas..

this reminds me of all the discussions when it was revealed that Taylor was rehearsing "an obscure Beatles tune" for the AI tour.. we speculated what it could be, and one reason I *had* to mortgage my future to get a great ticket to that first show in Manchester was so I could be one of the first to find out.....

the OH MY GOD THAT ONE! moment was well worth it.
Some others that were on My list -- Lady Madonna, Oh Darling and my favorite Paul song -- Maybe I'm Amazed

Mar--I didnt know about George and the ukes...very cool! I'll have to reveal that to the DH, as he was (is) a Beatles fan also.

And, yes, I would love to see him do Maybe Im Amazed...love that song...

What was the "obscure" song that Tay was rehearsing for the AI tour?

Dont think of the version that is found on the Beatles albums when it was released. Youve got to hear the acoustic version because its sooooo much prettier:

Here is an accoustic version by a very talented young man...listen and picture Taylor...

Very nice - usually like to just listen without the visual distraction but couldn't stop watching him playing

Can't find the LOVE album at my usual places and too tired to do a major hunt right now - - it will be a challenge for later Smile

AH, I just broke down and ordered it from Amazon.com, although the DH has a copy he downloaded from one of the musicsharing sites too. I had to get the actual CD w/the liner notes and such. Ill send you a copy of it, okay?

...I can finally come out to play...I worked my Greek festival Fri-Sun...then they moved our office AND I CANT FIND ANYTHING!!!!!...(back to the topic)

if we are talking Beatles Covers: You Wont See Me (Geo Harrison) also done by Anne Murray
any covers: Nights On Broadway...Bee Gees (Jive Talkin LP just before disco stuff)

...gotaa run..having a nasty storm wight now...rain,hail, lightning, thundder...!!!!(pray for us)
I'm on my lunch/coffee break...got two more ideas...
1. Dont You Love Her Madly...The Doors
2. Sunny (cant remember the original soul singer) but it has Taylor's growl in it already...from 1960's
The original singer of Sunny is Bobby Hebb. Nice choice.

I have a temporary free trial of XM radio. I plan to try out all the music stations before they take it away. Today I heard the 60s station and heard these two songs to add to the list:

Working in a Coal Mine -- Lee Dorsey
CC Rider/Jenny Take a Ride -- Mitch Ryder and Detroit Wheels --

When I was a tween, my friends' older brothers all had Mitch Ryder records. His sound was a definite influence on Bruce Springsteen and Bob Seger. "Devil with a blue dress on/Good Golly Miss Molly" is probably his biggest hit. His songs were mostly blues rock covers, the sound was party hearty. You don't hear about him much anymore, maybe because he wasn't a great songwriter. However if you wanted great rowdy dance music in the mid 60s, you couldn't do much better than Mitch Ryder.
If Taylor worked up "Devil With a Blue Dress" or "CC Rider" it would be a fine encore cover.
I also heard another great song...THE MOUNTAIN OF LOVE...by Johnny Rivers...((((wish he'd play on Taylor's next CD))))

(((gotta run...))) see ya'bye
To get funky Taylor, funky I love Little Feat
Funk=Rocket In My Pocket
Boogie= Dixie Chicken or Oh Atlanta and don't forget Willin".

Woohoo
I'd love to see Johnny Rivers and Taylor work together.. they have a lot in common, including Rockin Pneumonia..
"The mountain of love...the mountain of love...you should be ashamed...we use to be a mountain of love..." Johnny Rivers...(great harp on that one)...Poorside of town is another JR great one...

In one of my books I am writting I have included a scene I actually witnessed when I was in England on a summer abroad 1982....I went into a British pub...in the middle of nowhere...and a yet unknown Brit soul singer (((in the middle of the punk era))) was playing Johhny Rivers version of Memphis...talk about judging a person by there looks...this guy...and his band...were playing good old fashioned American music...using Johnny's classic guitar licks...but looked like they were refugees from the Spanish-American War...with Native war paint in un-native colors...ala AdamAnt
