Gypsee and WhompSwamp seem to have combined and created a
new TH community. Had no luck registering-it keeps booting me off
for wrong password. Will have to PM them, but can't as I'm not a
member that can log in

. At any rate, looks like it's going to be a good info source, and they also kindly linked us under Links We Like
http://s1.zetaboards.com/connections/index/
Uhadme - someone PM'd Gypsee on HQ and asked about the problems old members were having logging in. Apparently in the moving around things were messed up.
Didn't sound clear if it would get straightened out or if we would need to re-register. I opted to re-register and discovered I had to update my password.
And that may be a big part of the problem - - the site now has specifics for passwords - some people may be able to get in if their old password already meets the new criteria.
That's all I got. Can try PM'ing Gypsee on HQ yourself - - or since mouser is a member here and part of WhompSwamp's team maybe she can help.
Without sounding too pessimistic - do we really need another Fan Board?
Without sounding too pessimistic - do we really need another Fan Board?
Agreed--I cant keep all of them straight! Besides, I can rely on NESP to have the news anyway because we have such great SCOUTS!!!
I visit three regularly. But am here the absolute most! I can't handle anymore or I would be on the computer 24/7!
Hi everyone,
Having read my name above, I wanted to offer some information for you. If you enter through
http://www.thetaylorhickscommunity.com link you will see some information about the site. To get to the discussion board just click on the Connections,Swamp,Taylormadeoneline "box". This will take you to Connections where you can register . All registration must be approved as is the case with all boards.....
It is hoped that by unifying Taylor's fans, a new sense of camaraderie can blossom. NESP has a special place on the discussion board where we would like everyone to see the wonderful things that you do.
Not sure if this means that WhompSwamp and Gypsee's board
are now no longer, to create this new one. In that case, it would
be less boards to visit. I'm for anything that may unite the fan base!

I agree, it can get overwhelming trying to check in everywhere.
Yes, Kim, we have great scouts here. One stop shopping for news
and everything Taylor!
The problem I had may be related to having a password as a member
of those boards. I tried to reregister, but can't use my own name,
which I want to keep. I'll figure it out at some point.
Mouser, thanks for giving us a spot on the message board-really
cool

I tried to reregister, but can't use my own name,
UHadMe
I reregistered using AgingHippie and my old password adjusted to fit the new criteria last night and it accepted it. When I went back this afternoon I was able to log in so obviously it worked and I was cleared. Did you try changing your password ?
ETA: Just remembered something - - you have to check the box saying you agree with the terms of use - or it will kick your attempt to register. That happened to me on the first tryt.
Without sounding too pessimistic - do we really need another Fan Board?
There may not be a need for a New board but it seemed to me this is simply a shared portal for TaylorMadeOnline media & message boards and WhompSwamp - - - am I missing something ?
Good discussion topic though. Have thought about it ever since c2what went online and some comments were made that surprised [and disappointed] me a great deal.
Unfortunately for those of you brave enough to read this I'm still in "thinking mode" from a meeting - so here are some of my mental wanderings on this subject - - as always just opinon - nothing more - please feel free to dissect and disagree
There have been a number of new Taylor related websites - mostly individual blogs - started over the past months. Some I find interesting - some I don't - but am certain someone else's views would be the polar opposite of mine.
I'm delighted and encouraged that the interest level is so high that fans are putting their time, energy, and in some cases money into creating new sites and giving older ones face-lifts. Even if there were some way to limit the number of those "voices being heard" - would that really be good for Taylor? - or just help simplify our lives ? Given the nature of the fan base would it even be possible, forget desirable, to house everyone under one or two roofs ? As in any "market" - competition benefits the "consumer" - people find the places that are the best fit for them and adjust their travels accordingly.
We have seen there is a natural ebb and flow that has already occurred over the past two years. Amazingly the only majors to go dark have not been for lack of support but because webmasters had life issues that made it necessary to pass the torch. But because there was so much internet activity displaced fans could find a new home that worked for them. That same diversity increases the possiblity that new, potentially active fans will find a reason to stick around and get involved in the community as well.
Don't know if anyone else ever looks at these - - but it seems likely that at least a little of that traffic is looking for a place - or two - to call home
Google >> Results 1 - 10 of about 1,180,000 for Taylor Hicks
Yahoo >> 1 - 10 of about 12,700,000 for Taylor Hicks
Lycos >> Web Results provided by Ask 1 thru 10 of 1,390,000
Live Search >> Web results 1-10 of 4,970,000
And would have to give up my board name if I didn't add that the bottom line is everyone has the right to try their hand at creating their own vision.
Now to boil all my ramblings down into what a very wise person once told me "It's the internet !"
Just some rambling thoughts to be filed under IMHO / for what it's worth / brain left alone to play without supervision
Oh, I guess by all means, anyone is welcome to start their own little home in the Taylor Hicks community and I wish them well. I have 3 places (here, Boogie & HQ) that I visit regularly and it's certainly enough for me. Half the time I don't even have time to visit 1 of those 3 places (it's HQ - that's my stop when I'm bored). I'm comfortable where I'm and with my surroundings (online at least) so I don't feel the need to search elsewhere.
I visit the same three as Amy....plus KOPS and not so often TMO.
I can't handle more than these few but since this new site is the "former" TMO (as written someplace I saw today), I registered and got the approval e-mail. I had to tweak my password to fit 3 criteria. Keeping the passwords straight is hard!
I feel that between Boogie and NESP I get all the news I need plus I check out HQ for news from Taylor himself. I loved the TMO server with the tons of media Gypsee collected....without her I never would have seen Taylor singing Mainstreet in Royal Oak!
I have joined about 4 other sites in 2006 and early 2007 but I just can't keep bouncing around and like to stay where it's comfortable.
I get scared when I see my userCP here and look at how much time I have spent here....it adds up! In my defense...I may have NESP "open" but surfing elsewhere on the net or even answering to "MOM!" and walking away from the computer for up to 30 minutes while still "on" NESP.
