Wasnt there a whole legion of ppl who were calling Tay a fem?
When I told that to David, he was like, "No way, he's a dog," (A different "bitch" in tne bed every night...)
He also said Loren was a whore...haahaa...oops, have I turned anyone away??
As Amy said, different strokes for different folks!
Okay, please laugh now...I truly apologize if Ive offended anyone!
Oh, Loren is totally a whore.

Do I need to lay a moderating smackdown on this thread?

Amy....smack yourself with that pan!

mari...good points. I never thought of it that way but now that you mention it, I have a niece who used to have several gay male friends and even went to the prom and based on her dislike of most teenage "habits" maybe it was safe for her. I hate macho guys who act like testosterone fueled idiots...I dated lots of boys, many of them hockey players, but always respectful of me!
Bea....I had no idea Barry was ever married! Shocking! It may have been a marriage of convenience/a cover. He is VERY fem in my book! Not as flamboyant as Liberace but my goodness he is gay IMO.
I just mentioned Loren in the 'Taylor & Kelly dancing' thread. He thinks he's so sexy.....not my type but he's funny to watch.....he checks out who may be checking HIM out each night!
I hated the fact that because of that dang purple jacket, people thought Taylor was gay. I never in a million years thought that. No gay man would wear those fugly shirts. Taylor is very masculine

baby! Taydar

all the way!
I have been a fan of Barry's since I was 11. 31 years! Holy crap.
Ummm. Just read this whole thread. Barry is gay?!?!

Guess who just fell of the friggin turnip truck....

I have been a fan of Barry's since I was 11. 31 years! Holy crap.
I was 11 too when I really liked Barry, then when I got older I could care less,
but I've rediscovered him as of late. Thanks to appearances on AI and especially his PBS specials. Yes, I own Ulitmate Manilow CD. There is a handful of songs I really LOVE, and some I do not like at all, but
I've always loved the man's voice.
Barry being gay is just speculation...a lot of people think he is and can ya blame them!? But I don't think he is.
When Barry started getting really famous and things started getting crazy he didn't know how to handle it, and he wished there were someone who he could go to about it.
Taylor could get mentored by reading this book (and others) by reading the accounts of stars who have already gone through struggles he may be having or will have.
More nuggets from book:
"There were more and more people around me, smiling, opening doors, getting me drinks. Some had that glazed look of awe. Because of two hit records and a few television appearances, I had become a "celebrity", and many people around me stopped treating me like a regular person.
It's a problem that's unique to stardom. I wasn't prepared for it and it plagued me for years afterward.
I'd walk into a room with laughing, comfortable people and suddenly there was tension in the air. I found it difficult making friends. People were always on their best behavior when I was around and just couldn't break through my "celebrity" status."
How sad. I never realized before how frustrating and isolating it is. Being famous isn't all the blessing it's thought to be. It's also a curse. Lonely...
"The shows got bigger and the crowds got bigger. It was tough trying t okeep my head on straight. It was wonderful and terrible. It was a new world for me. I wasn't prepared for it and didn't know whom to ask about it."
More later...
When the crowds saw him they would surge around him. Once his glasses were broken, he got scratched from someone's long fingernails. It was flattering but terrifying too!
"Suddenly my life was out of control. Success had literally exploded over me, wrenching me out of what had been a normal life"
I remember Taylor wanting to always stay "grounded"
