The Grammy Awards has always been my favorite awards show.
I was excited to see that the pre-show awards are being webcast here!

Unfortunately, you have to download a new Microsoft thingy to watch it

I will report any relevant news...
The LOVE album of remixed Beatles classics, very recently discussed at NESP, won a Grammy for Best Surround Sound 5.1 CD. Sir George Martin was not present to receive the award.
The pre-show is very efficient -- announce the nominees, and if the winner is there they run up, and many are not. No frills or silly jokes..
Right now there is a musical interlude with Koko Taylor, PineTop Perkins and another blues veteran..
this is the stuff I love about the Grammys...
Robert Randolph is now a presenter -- Kanye will do very well tonight, he already has two...
Margaux,
Have they done this category yet ?
Best Contemporary Blues Album (Vocal or Instrumental)
Joan Armatrading was nominated for her " Into the Blues" album
The pre-show is done..
Peter Frampton and Patti Labelle look like someone's parents..
Multiple winners already -- Carrie Underwood/Before he Cheats, Springsteen/Radio Nowhere, Kanye West, Amy Winehouse and her producer Mark Ronson, White Stripes, Justin Timberlake.
Shut out so far -- Daughtry (too bad, Ace.. but Bruce is now and forever The Boss).
Awards I was pleased to see -- Alison Krauss/Robert Plant "Gone Gone Gone" pop collaboration, Steve Earle for Contemporary Folk (where most of the music I like gets dumped these days).
Weirdest winner, Eagles for Country Group performance, for a song they recorded 25 years ago when it was mainstream pop/rock...
AH -- I know Joan Armatrading did not win, don't recall who did... the awards went by very quickly.
Almost refreshingly so.
I'm glad Bruce won! I am not into him but I have a good friend and Bruce Springsteen is to her what Bob Seger is to me.

Shut out so far -- Daughtry (too bad, Ace.. but Bruce is now and forever The Boss).
Not to be a total B but wouldn't mind it that trend continues - not because of D - - just to shut up his wacko fans who flood any media comment section they can with negative crap about Taylor

the song is titled How Long. It's a current Adult Contemporary hit, sounds like a 70s Eagles song, because it is. It's one they didn't feel was good enough for an album back then. Nowhere in the class of Hotel California, Tequila Sunrise, or Take it Easy..
