My father used to sing that to me when I was little. I thought he made it up for me since I was born on Valentine's Day. One day, my mom was listening to a Johnny Mathias record and I heard Johnny Mathias singing my dad's song for me. I remember calling my father on the phone at work (which was unheard of in the 1950s) and telling him that someone made a record of my song. Of course I was crushed when I learned that my father had not written it for me at all. But I still feel special when I hear it.
