Cassie and I are going for David Archuleta and David Hernandez. We were not really impressed with Michael Johns or Carly Smithson. We felt bad about Josiah, but thought he was not emotionally stable enough to be in the competition. And yes, Stacey and Cassie would both like to take him in. We were also disappointed about Kyle. I was very interested to see what would happen with him.

I think they are saying it so that people will actually believe it, even if it's not the case. It can only be better than last year, right?
Michael John is my pick,I listened to some of his music on his myspace page,he's got a unique voice and plenty of charisma !
Since I knew that Carly and Michael J were big time ringers (people who have had record contracts), I was inclined not to like them. I still don't love Carly (but watch this space for more on her).
But in Michael's case, my hormones are arguing with me big time. He's very watchable.
There are some talented young boys -- Archuleta and Danny Noriega, both mature performers. But I can't get excited about teenage boys, even though both are more talented than Sanjaya or Kevin Covais.
I do hope Josiah got some notice from someone who can channel his talent and energy.. I don't think American Idol is the competition for him, he doesn't like compromise, and you gotta bite your tongue a LOT to get through Idol.

It takes a lot for me to "crush on" someone on television...I don't become fangirly very easily....it is a rare event and Mr. Hicks is a rare man to do it for me!
I think Michael Johns oversings, that is my problem with him. You need to caress a song, not beat it into submission! His "A Change is Gonna Come" audition left me a bit cold. I kept flashing to someone who did it with a bit more feeling, a bit more soul.
I'm going to keep my eye on Luke too.
Idol just ended....I loved most of the song choices tonight!
Happy Together has a special place in my heart dating back to my first love in HS.
I liked most of the performances too....Jason with the dreads was really different and great IMO.
David Archuleta is still at or near the TOP of my short list!
The guy with the son reminds me of an Osmond and Luke reminded me of Kenny Loggins and then Paula said the same thing.
Overall I liked it wayyyyy better than last year!
