Now, I understand that being seven seasons in and still not latching on to a catchphrase any more distinctive than “dawg” can be a little disconcerting, especially when Tim Gunn managed to make it look so effortless. But the reach-into-the-screen-and-shake-a-fool technology that I was so craving during my earliest moments in the company of The Boogie is something I still yearn for. And the man who helped unleash a new Paula Abdul song on the world is tops on my list.

This is where I stand right now on the top 20:
Girls: Ramiele is the best singer (anyone who can nail Dusty gets props from me), and Asia'h has the most interesting voice, I love the smoky quality.
I'm watching: Alexandrea -- She overflows with personality and fun, captures the stage like an Idol winner I recall.. Spinning Wheel was a blast.. If the rumors are true, and next week is 70s, Brooke could conquer with Carole King, and I want to see Amanda try something out of her comfort zone before I decide if she's in or out.
Carly is the wild card. I don't hate her even if she's the "ringer".. I like that she's not fashion-plate pretty. But she hasn't sung anything that's made me love her.
Boys: Jason is not the best singer, but he's so engaging and pleasant to watch. I hope he gets at least top 10. Obviously David A is very talented, and will get lots of tween votes. Michael Johns is hot but he knows it.
I hope Luke and David H step up their performances next week, I like them both but they haven't shown that they have what it takes.
Time will tell if the rocker boys David C and Robbie are real or posers...

Are you thinking that you'd actually like to see some of these people on tour?
Because I've been thinking the same thing.
I really enjoyed the AI4 tour with Carrie, Bo et al...and the AI5 tour was a blast (twice!). They would have had to have paid me to see AI6 - but AI7 might bring me back again...we'll see who makes it!
It's WAY too early to be thinking about the tour. If Manchester was the FIRST city again, instead of the Last one, it would make a huge difference. The disadvantage there is that for season 5, tickets went on sale before we knew who the winner was.. and I was damned if I was going to buy $79 tickets if someone other than Taylor was the winner.
So I had to get tickets that cost twice that much on Ebay... then do it all over again when Ticketmaster dropped 5th row tickets for the FIRST show at the last minute. but it truly was PRICELESS.
I can't see doing all THAT again. But once we know who will be going on tour, then we'll know if it's worth making plans.
Oh it definitely is going to depend on the Top 10 finalists for sure.
I was at the second AI show in Manchester and could not buy them the day/hour they went on sale because my daughter was making her First Communion that Saturday. I too had to resort to eBay and paid too much....and had crappy seats...but it was all worth it when Taylor did about 5 songs including Hollywood Nights! What a pleasant surprise!!! I bought the big Taylor poster during intermission!
