American Idol winner Taylor Hicks will not play in this year's Regions Charity Classic Charter Communications Pro-am Tournament.
The Birmingham native tells FOX6 Sports Director Rick Karle that he is pulling out of the pro-am because of a family illness and a scheduling conflict.
Hicks was scheduled to tee off at Ross Bridge on Thursday morning.

I feel very badly for the fans who are at the golf tourney.
I'm hoping that no one in his family is seriously ill, and that they recover quickly.
I'm also hoping that the scheduling conflict has something to do with American Idol, either tonight or the finale.
