In case you didn't notice this in the article Mari posted about Buddy Miles..

Friday, the news came down that Mike Smith, vocalist of the Dave Clark Five, passed away less than two weeks before the band will be inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame. That’s a cruel punch line, though Smith was paralyzed and had been in poor health for a while.
All of Mike's fans, and I count myself as one, were hoping he'd be able to make it to the US for the HOF induction, so while we knew he'd never been well since his horrible accident, the timing of his death is especially tragic. In its day, the Dave Clark Five was one of the very top British invasion bands, immediately on the heels of the Beatles, and I always thought Mike was a great singer.
I did learn that VH1 and its High Def counterpart (MHD) are broadcasting a tribute concert for Mike that took place a couple years ago, I did find that it is showing at least once more this week. I'm sure that the Hall of Fame broadcast next week -- including the induction of the DC5 -- will have a salute to Mike Smith.
