The man not only rubs me the wrong way, he creeps me out. I read the other day that he is 75. Isn't it time to RETIRE already? He is so power hungry and $$$ hungry he will probably die at his desk at the age of 99 trying to strong arm another talented artist. GRRRRRRR.

It was definitely interesting reading the comments. Sounds like
they're from people in the know that have experienced Clive for
themselves. Seems like overall he's not well liked, but gets a
grudging kind of respect for his luck/skill in picking hits.

I sense that he has a very BIG ego,and will never retire.

Interesting read,he's not a very likable man.Any redeeming qualities he may have are outweighed by the non redeeming ones !

I loved this exchange:
And so, to wrap up this short set, here is the best-ever Clive story:
Mid-'60s, CBS. Clive is meeting with Duke Ellington for the purpose of dropping him from Columbia Records.
Clive: You see, Mr. Ellington, your records aren't selling anymore.
Duke (puzzled expression): I make the records. You sell the records.
