I heard a great song this morning on my way to work by Ana Popovic.  Is anyone here familiar with her?  I did a little research and found her website http://www.anapopovic.com.   I'm curious enough that I think I have to purchase her latest CD.  The song I heard was Where Did You Learn to Shake Like That?  I loved it!

(I was listening to WERU 89.9 - they stream online http://www.weru.org)
I downloaded Kelly Clarkson's new CD from ITunes.. as much to give her a vote of confidence against Clive as for any other reason. It's neither as ground breaking as Kelly wants us to believe, or as horrible as Clive and the naysayers have claimed. I love women who sing with strong clear voices and attitude. I think some songs will grow on me, and some will do very well on the radio given a chance. Nothing has blown me away like her Idol Gives Back track "Down from the Mountain", which shows off the gorgeous lower bluesy range of Kelly's voice. Fortunately with ITunes I was able to burn that track on my CD.

My wish is that one of the songs will get airplay on Adult Alternative Radio, which is where the "serious" artists like Marc Broussard and James Morrison get played.. WBOS and WXRV "The River" in the Boston area.. If Kelly can break through to be the first Idol alum to be played on this format, it will only be a good thing once Taylor is making the records his way.
I've been listening to some early Jewel lately, when she was really folksy instead of country. The emotion you feel in her voice in some of her songs, you feel her anguish and pain. And her early songs were written at such a young age that it makes you stop and wonder how she had those experiences so young.

I don't have the time right now to find the links, but her first album "Pieces of You" is definitely worth a listen.
Going to add that I ordered the Ana Popovic CD from Amazon this afternoon as well as Jamie Lidell's Multiply CD.

Preordered the Taylor Hicks' audiobook too...

Wheeeeeee! As I was told previously - Christmas in July! Smile
Oh I have the Multiply CD- I like it! I LOVE the song 'What's the Use'- I find Jamie Lidell pretty sexy! :D
A friend burned me the songs 'Multiply' and 'Little Bit More' and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I never would have found this music and these artists without my little adventures around Taylor's world.
Watch the "What's the Use" video on youtube- he's a total cutie!
Hey, do any of you remember The Bay City Rollers of the 1970's? ?
They were from Scotland and wore tartan! They were my first crush, when I was like 9 or 10 years old!
I have most of their songs on cassette but haven't listened to them in a long time.
Name some songs, TayBea, I'm sure I know them... before my time, sadly, but that's my favorite genre: "Older than me". Haha

I've been listening to Paul McCartney's latest, "Memory Almost Full". Pretty uneven. The single, Dance Tonight, which I'm sure anyone with a tv and/or a Starbucks has been subjected to recently, is probably the best one on there. But if you're a fan, it's good to hear something new and upbeat. (While "Chaos & Creation" was incredibly good, it was a bit of a bummer!)
Mari, the biggest hit they had was "S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night" where they would spell out the word(Saturday) in the song.
