Tom T. Hall. One of my absolute favorite songs by him is Old Dogs and Children and Watermelon Wine (which isn't silly so I won't link it here).
Another favorite is:
Sneaky Snake (not a video of Tom performing it but at least you can hear the song - it's cute)
And, what the heck - here's the afore mentioned song:
And the song "I Love" (My sister & father danced to this song at her wedding reception)
I could go on - "The Night Clayton Delaney Died", "Ravishing Ruby, "Faster Horses, Younger Women"...and on and on. Thank you for sending me down that little rabbit hole!
