Overall it was a boring night....my faves were David A. (voted 5 times) and Carly. David Cook paled in comparison to his last few weeks.
I did not like Chikezie and cracked up when Simon told Ramiele that it sounded like Chikezie was on harmonica during her song.
They spent WAY to much time on judges comments last night too.
Too much changing up of the arrangements on most for me. It's
really hard to mess with the Beatles and do a good job IMO. Had
David Cook just done the Beatles version his own style it would have
been amazing! Amanda needs to do something different fast. Why
didn't Jason do "When I'm 64?" that would've been so cute
When Chikezie whipped out that harp I was having some serious
Taylor withdrawals Lots of Taylor imitations this season
Harp, lying on the floor, WOOs,etc. I loved it when Brooke said
"That woo just slipped out" It happens!
Cassie was sitting on the arm of my chair when Chikezie came on. After he said something about learning an instrument in his intro piece, and then he came out with nothing, Cas said "he's gonna pull out a harp." Damn if she wasn't right. I am really liking him for so many reasons. He's not going to win, but he's giving it a helluva ride!
David A. was great, as was David C., even though Simon didn't think so. Cassie and I both thought that Carly's Blackbird, was not "gentle" enough.
While I agree that Amanda's sound lacks variety, and she needs to learn more tricks, she seems more comfortable moving around the stage than anyone else.
David A sang beautifully, of the others some I liked, some I didn't. By and large, other than David A, no one was as good as last week. Christy Lee made another horrible mess of a wonderful song. She has just got to go. WZID played Chikeze for their weekly "you be the judge" feature, and his voice sounds good on the radio, the listener judges agreed.
We saw the dobro during Chikeze's song, we never saw the Clark brother playing the dobro. Wonder what that was about?
I was a little surprised with the early dismissal of Amanda. I don't really mind her going, but would have preferred to see her tour more than Kristy. Ce la vie.
