Today is the big day. The day Harry went to see the Crohns specialist. As you probably already knew. I was on pins and needles all day. I finally heard from him around five this afternoon.
His attitude was very good. This is what he told me:
His doctor has taken him off of almost all his meds. He is starting from scratch. He wants to slowly introduce new meds to him so he can tell which meds work and which meds do not.
There is a shot he wants Harry to take. They will send a nurse out to his house the first time it is given to him. Just to make sure if he is allergic he will be in good care. The name of it is HUMIRA. I looked it up and to me it seems as if it has just as many risks as the rumicade. So we shall see. This doctor took his time with Harry and went over everything from when he was first diagnosed. The doctor is requesting all tests results from the start till now so he can be very thorough with him. As for his cancer. The doctor needs to receive the tests results before he can determine what will be done.
For now I find hope in knowing he now has a doctor who seems to know what he is doing. He is willing to take his time and make this right. He is going over all this with a fine toothcomb to try to get Harry's health back on track.
So my comfort in all this is knowing Harry could have a fighting chance at the possibilities of being pain free and being able to cope with his Crohns. It is more hope then I have had since it all started.
Oh my son also found out that his dad had put his stepmother down on the doctor’s forms when he was younger. As being his biological mother. That is why I was never contacted. ( grrr) Now that Harry is older, he will no longer be subjected to his step mothers taunts at the doctor’s office. Now the doctors will finally be able to listen to him without having his stepmothers influence. For those of you who don't know. Harry's stepmother always blamed him for being as sick as he had become. Her and his dad both often used to tell me he wanted attention when he got sick. They treated it as a mind game. When in fact it was a game they were playing with his life. Now we can rest knowing my son is in charge of his own health now and things may finally start to look up...
Keep praying, the road is still a long and bumpy one ahead. There is hope that it may smooth out down the line...
A huge thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers!
God Bless you all!
