None of the serious contenders still standing in AI7 are bonafide country artists, so Dolly Parton week could be a challenge.

I did hear that the White Stripes have covered "Jolene", but David C -- maybe this is the week to take things down a notch and show us you can bring a fine alt.country vibe next week.
And Michael, your fellow Aussie Keith Urban does very very nicely as a country heartthrob, so you could do worse than channeling him for your performance.
Even Chris Daughtry showed us that when he stopped screaming and sang country music, he actually could sing.
Brad Paisley has a duet with Dolly on his 2005 Time Well Wasted CD titled "When I Get Where I'm Going".

I personally love the CD Dolly did in 1990 with Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris, called TRIO. Check out the classic "To Know Him Is To Love Him" and the gorgeously simple "Wildflowers".

Wow - can't believe I forgot to weigh in on last night's Idol! It's almost time for "Chopped & Screwed Night" (tm - Dave White).

My favorites last night were Brooke, Michael and David C.

I love the way Brooke's voice breaks at just the right moments in a song and I thought she did a very nice version of Jolene.

Michael. You could have knocked me over with a feather after that song last night. Great delivery --- it's about time!!!

David C. He took a song that I had never heard before and made a nice little rock song out of it. Beautiful. And the poor bugger wasn't even feeling well!

I also liked Jason - he brought his best to the table last night. Syesha took a big song and did an OK job with it. She didn't really overimpress me with her styling of it. David A - makes me want to take a nap when I just see his face even though he can pretty much sing anything.

I predict bottom 3 to be Ramielle, Kristy and Carly. It's really Ramielle's time to go, don't you think?

Talking to myself here tonight - so what else is new?

Guess I was almost on the mark with the bottom 3...but gosh darn it!!! Ramielle made me cry tonight! It all started with Brooke's little speech that she made about the whole night...I think she's just a wonderful person. I'd love to sit and have a chat with that girl!

Well they did get it right last night. I liked Michael. that was the perfect song for him. I love both Davids. Jason, never liked him for his singing. He has a good voice but I can never hear him, he's always too soft.

I still miss Chickizie! <-----or however you spell his name!

I'm enjoying a season with two strong males that are interesting and talented, Michael who is so good looking, and David who seems to be very intelligent (and dorky-cute). They even seem to like each other. (did you hear them say during last night's Q+A that they were working on "Islands in the Stream" for the tour? )

Brooke's speech got me all teary eyed too She really does
seem like a genuinely nice person. I would love to see her go to the
dark side once like Olivia Newton John in Grease

Liked the Ford commercial lol what a crack up.

I do enjoy Dolly Parton, but not sure she was the right pick for Idol...

Next week should be really interesting. Seems like they're starting to
