This tidbit was found in an article about Ferras, whose new single "Hollywood's Not America" was used as the exit song during some of the American Idol Hollywood weeks earlier this season.
It's the one with the catch phrase ""So long, put your blue jeans back on, girl""

His signature song, "Hollywood's Not America," which he co-wrote, first landed in the hands of production team the Matrix (Avril Lavigne, Korn), who shared it with Anokute. Initially it was geared to Taylor Hicks, but once Anokute heard it, all he could hear was Ferras.

Do you hear Taylor singing this?
I think "Hollywood Nights" is more his style.

Hollywood Nights probably is more Taylor's style, but I would LOVE
to hear him sing this one-I think he'd do it beautifully Highfive It's
very cool that people are out there writing things "geared to Taylor
Hicks" too!

Can't NESP write him a hit in our spare time? Haha

Think the fact that Idol would use it says enough - - but since you asked.

I like Taylor singing ballads - I even like Places I've Been - quite a lot actually - but this thing seems like a song that
would have made him walk out of the room back on the show.
Boring - overworked - pretentious - horrible overuse of frills - gawd it almost makes My Destiny look like a good song.
A much cleaner arrangement might help it - stressing might - - but why bother when there is so much good music out there.
And whatever that is at 3:04 and 3:16 (half yodel ? ) - he really shouldn't Sad

Umm - guess short answer would be No. blushing

Short reply= It sucked!hide
