A Tribute to the Greatest Album in Rock & Roll History -
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Starring:

Taylor Hicks, Todd Rundgren, Denny Laine, plus more!
Performing their hits, plus the album in its entirety.

However, no one else seems to know much about this and no other information can be found. It's not listed on their website yet. http://www.wolftrap.org

I just thought I would post the information here to see if anyone else had any knowledge (or better googling skills than the rest of us!).

This would be very exciting - especially if it managed to tour itself right up the east coast into a New England state or two (or three or....).

Denny Laine -- WHOOO!!!

(I love anyone that ever played in Wings. Don't mind me.)
I've been googling "Todd Rundgren" and "Sgt. Pepper's" all week, and nothing's turned up. August 23 is open at Wolftrap according to Pollstar.com.

I would be most surprised if this show wasn't the August "touring with some folks we can't announce yet" that Taylor discussed in the Finebaum broadcast last week. Which means it has other dates.

I would expect a show like this to turn up at the Bank of America pavilion on Boston's waterfront. Pollstar.com shows a lot of open August dates there.

If not, Wolf Trap has cheap lawn seats, the DC area is only an hour away via SW airlines, and I am quite impressed with their group sales department. While I've not been there, I hear it's like Tanglewood.

And yes, Mari, I agree that Denny Laine is quite qualified to be in a Beatles' tribute performance. I saw him a few weeks ago in the rebroadcast tribute to Mike Smith of the Dave Clark 5, he still has it. Todd should also be interesting.
Confirmed!

Ticket Price: $40 in-house, $25 lawn
Road trip anyone??? only 7 hour drive from Spencer Ma!
Ruh roh Haha

Would be interested to see if this were a touring show....Would they
only do something this cool only once?

How did Taylor get involved in the mix? Great stuff, and would love
to know how it all came about! Wink
Woo hoo. This show is less than 3 hours from me. Definitely making this trip. Glen Allen in VA was so great last year. VA is a nice place and in late August should be good and HOT!!!

And did anyone look at the Wolf Trap home page for this show? Taylor's #1 in the line-up with his picture of the CD staring right at you when you log on.

There are so many connections we do not know anything about. I read today at the boogie that maybe playing golf with Meatloaf started this connection. I wonder what his connection is? I don't know these 6 degrees of separation for Taylor sitings.

This is just the beginning of things, IMO. The rest will unfold 'Taylor style.'
This is soooo great for everyone involced....especially Taylor. My friends from the UK come that week. But my heart and soul will be at Wolftrap. Muabe they'll take this thing on the road?
I cant believe Im already planning a trip! Its only about 3 1/2 hrs from us! Woo hoo!! We're planning on taking the family cuz I promised the kids that they next time I saw Taylor, I would take them. Isabel especially loves Taylor. And this really sounds like a great show and a great place for a late summer trip before school starts.

Now Im really itching for Taylor--I cant wait to see where else he plays this summer. What makes me think that he's doing the Big E again??
I seriously doubt this will be a one time show. I would look for tour dates to be announced soon - remember, he did say he would see New England in August! We just have to figure out where...

Have a great time Kim. I hope the kids enjoy it - it will be an education for them (and for me). I don't know much about Sgt. Pepper!
