I just read an article that said that Michael Johns had planned on doing her "Visions of Love" were he still around this week...I hope he does it on tour!!!
I like some of Mariah's music but I do not like her. She is a major diva and seems very shallow and way too into herself...."aren't I the sexiest thing in the world?" She won't let anyone film her from her "bad" side....gimme a break!
The guys may have a hard time this week.

I do like some of her music though. I just can't really picture the Idols
singing her stuff for the most part. My favorite is Always Be My Baby

I don't mind Mariah so much. She is all about her body...one look at her recent video for "Touch My Body" pretty much sums it up. She has had a rough couple of years though but seems to be back on track. I really liked her earlier music but her most recent stuff seems to have gone the way of current pop radio.
Anyway, it should be an interesting week.
I can't stand her! She's always posing, sorta like Renee Zellwegger does! Ewwwww and double Ewwww~

I haven't seen it yet but did see a clip of David Cook. Judges seem to like it, it was OK...daring and he sounded good just not a version I would ever buy.
I have a very strong opinion of Mariah--but I dont think its appropriate to post here. Let's just say that I used to like her when she first came on the scene in the very early 90s--I could listen to her, but I never bought an album. Mariah is a di-vah! That's her personality. She can sing and she is talented, but, I have a problem w/all divas.
I have the same problem w/Diana Ross...liked her better when she was a Supreme, LOVED her in "Lady Sings the Blues"--but hate the diva mentality.
As for last night's performances--well, overall, I think they were okay. Again, I was bugged by David A. All he sings are ballads! He does sing them beautifully, but Im so bored of him.
I did enjoy whatshername, the one w/the long curly hair who plays piano. She's got this Carol King/Carly Simon thing that I enjoy.
Poor Syesha--she can sing very well but I have to agree w/the judges--there is nothing about her voice that stands out. She seems to pick obscure song choices and then tends to shout them. She is beautiful, tho.
And Carly--she started to shrink in the middle of her number! It was so obvious! I really like her too but Im afraid shes going tonight.
How do ya'll think Taylor would have fared during Mariah week?
Well, I for one, was impressed with Mariah last night. The contestants seemed to really take to her and listened to her advice. She didn't come across as diva-like at all.
My favorite last night - absolutely above and beyond the others - was David Cook. I am going to make a CD of his performances this weekend.
