I think Brooke needs to go. I like Brooke but her nerves are getting worse and you can't stop and start AGAIN.

Yes David Cook was #1 for sure! That was amazing. Syesha was definately in her element. David A was good but I think I actually like Carly better than him last night. That was the perfect song for Carly.

I hope Jason doesn't go, I'm not done seeing cute and charming Jason with the piercing blue eyes. NOT DONE. Wink

Based on my scores last night, on a 1-10 scale, here they are:

David C: 10
Syesha: 9
Brooke: 8
Carly: 8
Jason: 8
David A: 7

I gave my first 10 of the season, though I probably could have given David C. one earlier this season, but I obviously chose not to, for whatever reason...

Dad & I were thoroughly IMPRESSED with Syesha last night! w00t

I am in the process of listening to it right now (1992 London Cast Revival --- http://www.amazon.com/Starlight-Express-...l_1#disc_1 ) as this is the recording that I have...

Even though this song (at least in THIS recording) was done by 2 guys, I NEVER would have thought to do this in the styling of a TORCH song http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torch_song...

It was VERY well done, and I read somewhere that it was done with the styling of Michelle Pfeiffer in "The Fabulous Baker Boys" singing "Makin' Whoopee" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TULYBRHBAs ...
Yowza, yowza, yowza!!! Heat

I voted majorly for David C., and Syesha.
Next up were Carly and Jason, and I threw a couple of votes Brooke's way...
I absolutely REFUSE to vote for Archu-D2... angry
I was very impressed with David Cook last night- first time I actually almost voted!
He's been consistently really good.

THawks-I don't want to see Jason go either.
NOT my type of music so I agree with Simon, none are memorable performances you will remember next week.

Like Randy said, if you can sing you can sing the phone book, so the Two Davids clearly have the best voices.

I can't stand Brooke, Ive wanted her gone since the beginning but she manages to keep hanging on.

Her and Jason most likely in bottom.

Top 2 I think will be: David A, David C both excellent singers just two different styles. Sad thing is David A is clearly a front runner but like Taylor if he wins he won't get the support because he's not Pop, Rock or Country. Sad
I will be sorry to see Jason go if his time is up but his song choice was BORING. I was hoping he would do the amazing ballad from Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat that Joseph sings while imprisoned....forget the name but it would suit Jason!

David Cook and David A. should be top two for sure.

Brooke is making me ill.
I have to defend my Brooke. I love love love this girl and I can't quite explain it. I just think she's a breath of fresh air and a natural talent - but she's not born to do Broadway show tunes. I love her attitude and her sensitivity and well...I just love the girl. She seems to be a very sweet, emotional person. I voted for her for almost the entire 2 hours last night. If she does go home tonight, I have no doubt she will go gracefully and I wish her all the best. I'll definitely be looking for her debut album.

That's all. Smile
1- David Cook
2- Syesha
3- Carly
4 - David A
5- Brooke
6- Jason

Cook and Syesha were outstanding. They know their theatre, and it showed. I would not be surprised if Syesha stays to top 3 or 4. She's not always memorable, but she doesn't have big screw ups.

So I reversed Carly and David A. David A's performance was lifeless, he didn't convince me.
Carly did mess up some words in JC Superstar, but not so as you'd notice if you didn't know the words. (See Taylor Hicks). She could have done some more interesting choices, and the high notes were beyond her range, otherwise she did just fine.

Brooke might have been very good given more time to work on the song. It was actually a good choice for her, as this song was written for Madonna (for the movie version of EVITA), who does not have a diva range. But one of the factors in this contest is working under time pressure, and she wasn't up to it.

Jason proves that the number one (and number 2 and 3) rule for winning American Idol is SONG CHOICE. Honestly, these theme weeks were announced a while ago. The kids have access to the internet, they have people at home who can be scouting for songs. There isn't an excuse for picking a song that is totally ill suited to your voice, unless you have a clear vision of where you want it to go (see Jason and Cook last week with the Mariah songs). If you're not smart enough to figure this out, you're not smart enough to win. I enjoy Jason when he's performing within his style.

The ITunes studio recordings should be very interesting.
David Cook and Syesha really stood out last night, agree with everyone. I really like Brooke too, but I have a feeling her days are
numbered. Carly and David A. were good, but they could have picked
much better songs. Jason what are we going to do with you?Roll Eyes He sounded weak last night-what a bummer. I definitely want to see him around longer-I just think he's a riot "I didn't know a cat sang it" Haha
Uggh I can't stand Brooke! She's put me to sleep from day one! Just sounds like a Carly Simon wannabe. JMO! LOL
