Ray of course!
You're Beautiful by James Blunt
******
Boy you sure took me for a ride
And even now I sit and wonder why
That when I think of you I stop myself fron crying
I just can't waste my time
I must keep tryin
I've got to stop believing all your lies
Cause there's to much to do before I die
Mr. Joe Cocker ! ! Feelin' Alright
(scurries off to set up new playlist :] )
===================================
Bonus points if you get the
original singer / songwriter
But the more well known group is fine too
Action speaks louder than words
And I'm a man of great experience
I know you've got another man
But I can love you better than him
Hard to Handle
Otis Redding
Black Crows
Should I go on.

Have you ever heard the version on
The Commitments soundtrack?
I actually knew that was Hard to Handle but didn't know anyone besides The Black Crowes had done it...
No one guessed the lyrics I posted many many posts back. It was Don't Mean Nothing by Richard Marx.
Here's an easy one:
There's a woman in the kitchen
Cleaning up evening slop
And he looks at her and says
Hey darlin' I can remember when you could
Stop a clock.
Here's a harder one:
Strange voices are saying
Ah what did they say?
Things I can't understand.
It's too close for comfort
So I have to get up and go.
Aint That America, SH
John Mellancamp
SH, second one is Cruel Summer - Bananarama
I knew I recognized that song! It just looked so poetic written out like that!

Aint That America, SH
John Mellancamp
Yes to Mellencamp....but wrong song title!! It's called Pink Houses.
And YES Tricia! I have the Ace Of Base version....sounds very similar. Reminds me SO MUCH of sophomore year in college!! Sigh.
The Ace of Base version - I remember the first time I heard it and knew the words to the song. A friend of my sister's looked at me like I had 3 heads. She had never heard the Bananarama version of the song. That was so wrong.
