Just watched Idol and here's my summary:
Jason made me LOL a few times and he has his niche for sure but needs to go home Wed.
My heart skipped a beat when he said he was sticking with "Bobs" this week....but he meant Dylan!
I will be curious to see if he gets any record deal....he will get lots of votes cuz he's in trouble again!
Syesha was very entertaining and although I thought she was off key a few times on A Change Is Gonna Come, she was classy and made me misty during the judges comments. Randy took his grouchy pills! Ouch.
David Cook was good and I may download his studio versions but he lacked that WOW of prior weeks.
David Archuleta....LOVED LOVED LOVED. He is adorable and has the voice of an angel. I'm sorry many of you do not like him. His vocals are pure and amazing IMO. I want to give him a hug.

David Cook - he's the one this season that could sing the phone book and make me swoon. Therefore, I enjoyed his performances. Baba O'Reilly was REALLY good.
Syesha - not sure why her first song wasn't a "copycat" because it was IMO a Tina Turner impersonation. She sang both songs really well and showed true emotion tonight.
Jason - Oh, Jason. I hadn't heard the Bob Marley version of I Shot the Sheriff before but I thought it was OK. At least he didn't forget the words. The 2nd song was just OK.
Archie - He did a good job tonight. His vocals are so bland and boring though and he runs, runs and runs stuff, trying to make it his own but he just annoys me. Open your eyes when you sing and stand up straight! Does he own a suit? It just seems like some of the songs he does requires a little more dressing up...
I think Jason's suitcase is already packed.

Anybody think Jason took a dive on purpose??? Maybe he wants one of the others to win or is his"whatever" personality. Maybe he's the on eyanking the judges chaines this year.
Sayesha's version of a A Change is Gonna Come came from another vintage performer...and she has a BIG following here in South Florida. Sayesha came from Sarasota, but lives and goes to school here in Miami. Plus she was the winner of the local version of AI here in Miami.
But anyone of them could go tomorrow...I am just sorry Ryan did not announce Bo will be one tomorrow.

Me too! I wanted Ryan to mention Bo and mention Taylor's stamps but they were over by a minute or two and he was rushing out (for Hell's Kitchen!)
Hopefully they will show Taylor's stamps tomorrow as they have for Fantasia and Carrie.

Watching the YouTubes for David Cook - - loved, loved, loved Baba O'Reily - - gutsy choice to change up a virtual rock anthem - - and he more than nailed it !!!!!!! IMHO
In case you want another taste
This gal did a great cover - but didn't do much to make it more than that
Jordis Unga - Baba O'Riley (Rock Star INXS)
And of course - - The Who

I missed the whole show due to being on the phone with tech support for T Mobile for over two hours as my phone was so messed up
I'll have to watch the clips on You Tube-but it's not the
same!!
At least if Jason goes tomorrow I'll have company to console me

ETA: here ya go Liz - all in one handy channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/JohnJohnDow
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rest of the results from my YouTube "show"
David C's other song - - Hungry Like the Wolf - no real complaints - solid performance but not a wow !
Jason - - he is growing on me - big time - - think there is a lot more to this kid than he's letting on - - TPTB wouldn't know what to do with him either
>> I Shot The Sheriff - - - my 2nd favorite song of the group
- really liked his cover - but have to ask - is Jason doing Bob Marley just too cliche ? - seriously !
>> Mr. Tamborine Man - com'on how do you forget Dylan's lyrics ? unless it is deliberate ? anyone else have that gut reaction ?
kinda liked it overall - but then I enjoy the I'm Not There soundtrack because as much as I love Dylan's songs - I enjoy them even more when someone else sings them [ducking behind bullet proof glass]
Syesha - - my thought from last week has been confirmed - three local musical theater buffs that I know just love her - LOL
>> Proud Mary - worked it way too much - Tina just IS "all that" - might have been better off putting more into the singing and less into the shimmy
>> A Change Is Gonna Come - much better than Mary and was liking it until the damn "off Broadway" ending - *sigh*
David A = whatever ! *yawn*
>> Love Me Tender - calling Il Divo - your order is ready - - (that is not a compliment in my book btw)
>> Stand By Me - better - but am liking the W.N. comparison more and more - very Vegas that was
And just for kicks and giggles - - Bob Marley - "I Shot The Sheriff" (live)

Hey wait now. "Hungry Like The Wolf"?? Since when did Duran Duran "shape" rock & roll? *sigh* This show makes me need a drink. I'm glad I don't watch it!

This is my take:
Cook - Duran Duran was never one of my favorite bands. I heard some speculation that Hungry Like a Wolf could be a favorite of his brother Adam. I also wonder if his strategy was to play safe on the first song, and save his strength for the Who song, which he had to nail.
Syesha -- Proud Mary was good, but lacked a certain grit. As Tina says "we never sing nothin' nice", and Syesha is way too nice. I did like "Change is Gonna Come" and appreciated that she took the time to do the research, and explained why it's a meaningful song.
Archuleta -- Stand by Me was my choice for him, a message song with a nice R+B groove, and he did it very well. I like it when the Idol kids listen to me
Love Me Tender was a snoozer, that song works best as Elvis did it, a tender folk ballad with a solo guitar, not the right song for Archie's voice.
Castro -- Jason, Jason.. Shot the Sheriff was Marley karaoke. Tambourine Man was one of my picks for him, except for the word gaffe it was ok, but nothing to convince me he should stay.
