Another good article with a fine picture, Broadway does love Taylor!
Taylor Hicks and Brian Stokes Mitchell Take Broadway To DC
There is a festive atmosphere on hand at the capital in Washington D.C. for the annual Fourth Of July Celebration. Grease’s Taylor Hicks is seen here in some insider rehearsal pictures, as is Tony Award regular Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Jimmy Smitts (as the President?). Pictures below are from the rehearsal, which was truly Broadway in the Capital. Taylor Hicks is quickly making himself a Broadway star in addition to being an American Idol. Show is on tonight. Taylor looked great, I think the distance btween him and the band made it hard in regards to timing in some spots...could anyone tell if he had "ears" (Earpiece to hear the band)in? A lot of the performance seemed rushed and Taylor seemed out of breath. He was in great voice but the tempo was uo about two steps on all songs. Still just love watching Tay.

I do think it was rushed, saw that in rehearsals too. Not sure if that was his choice or the organizers. They fit a heck of a lot of music in that night, but no one seemed as hurried as he did. He looked like he was having a great time and as we've read elsewhere, was very happy to be there.
