We thought it might be fun to describe where NESP was on voting
night for Taylor for this month's Soul Connection. Deadline for
entries is on Thursday, so if you can add to this thread that would
be great!!

Voting night... I watched the show at my parents' house then went back to my apartment down the street, grabbed the cordless and the paper I'd scribbled the numbers on, and got into bed. Lights off, eyes closed, kept hitting redial until the lines closed. I don't think I got a single vote through.

Watched from home had pen and paper in arms reach. When show was over I grabbed the cordless phone and screamed out loud a few

's and went and layed down on the couch in the sunroom..... out of ear shot of my hubby

he could not and still can't comprehend the importance of this,go figure.I got through 2 times by hitting redial a zillion times.Loved his voice on the phone it took a few minutes to gather myself and remember I was calling to vote.

I was at home and watched with my husband. He went to bed right after the show. I was wired and determined and dialed for 2 hours but only got through 4 times to vote....it was cool hearing Taylor's voice after each successful vote!
After he was announced the winner I cheered and LOVED IT when Taylor bent backward and yelled "SOUUULLLLL PATROOOLLLLLLL" when Ryan asked him what he wanted to say to his fans!

That was the night I broke the re-dial button on my land-line phone. Had to run across the street tp my father's house and contunued dialing. I was so new at all of this I thought 30 votes was a lot! I also consumed one bottle of tums over the next 48 hours after the final show.
I'm trying to remember voting for the finale, and I really don't...
I think I was most intense about voting on Top 4. The outcome I could not have accepted was Kat/Chris. If either Elliott or Taylor made top 2, then I knew that real music was the winner. After Taylor made top 3, I'm sure I still voted but I knew it was all good.
Of course the outcome made me very very happy. America got it right.
Where else could I possibly have been! At my favorite nail salon getting my nails done! Right at the time the show was to end, I called my daughter to find out who won, and was so excited that Taylor won, that a couple of nails had to be repolished! Then I rushed home, turned on the TV, fastforwarded through the commercials and cried as Taylor sang "Do I Make You Proud" as the credits were rolling! It was a very proud moment, and one that still gives me chills to think about, or even watch on video!
I was at home with the cordless in one hand & my cell in the other. I kept hitting redial then send over & over. It took me a little bit, but I finally got a pretty good rhythm going, lol. I actually got thru quite a few times. Toward the end of the voting time I was getting thru almost every call.

I have 2 phone lines in the house. I had the cordless in one hand and the non-cordless in the other and was hitting redial on both like a mad woman. I have no idea how many votes I put through, but I know I voted the entire FOUR hours. I was a very tired person at work but I felt like the work that I was doing was good work. It would be beneficial in the end.
