Taylor has professed a great love of Paul Simon and considers him a great influence, right?

How about Loves Me Like a Rock?

Artist: Paul Simon
Album: There Goes Rhymin' Simon
Title: Loves Me Like A Rock

Words & music by Paul Simon

When I was a little boy, (when I was just a boy)
And the devil would call my name (when I was just a boy)
I'd say "now who do,
Who do you think you're fooling?" (when I was just a boy)
I'm a consecrated boy (when I was just a boy)
I'm a singer in a sunday choir
Oh, my mama loves, she loves me
She get down on her knees and hug me
Like she loves me like a rock
She rocks me like the rock of ages
And loves me
She love me, love me, love me, love me

When I was grown to be a man (grown to be a man)
And the devil would call my name (grown to be a man)
I'd say "now who do,
Who do you think you're fooling?" (grown to be a man)
I'm a consummated man (grown to be a man)
I can snatch a little purity
My mama loves me, she loves me
She get down on her knees and hug me
Like she loves me like a rock
She rocks me like the rock of ages
And loves me
She love me, love me, love me, love me

And if i was president (was the president)
The minute congress call my name (was the president)
I'd say "who do,
Who do you think you're fooling? (who do you think you're fooling)

I've got the presidential seal (was the president)
I'm up on the presidential podium
My mama loves me
She loves me
She get down on her knees and hug me
Like she loves me like a rock
She rocks me like the rock of ages
And loves me

Fade out:
She love me, love me, love me, love me
(loves me like a rock)
ETA: - - Amy, one of my favorite Paul Simon songs ! !  and thanks for the new bread crumbs trail to keep the other half of my brain occupied the rest of the afternoon  Smile

remember that old potato chip commercial ? - bet you can't eat just one . . . .
well I have that problem when I go to YouTube - - kept a window open and have been  "sampling"  while I'm working

for one thing I thought I owed Mr. Buffett a reminder to everyone that he does do some serious music too and this is still one of my favorites - - think you'll find JB's intro very interesting as well  - -

would really like to hear what Taylor would do with this song

Come Monday - - From "Tales From MargaritaVision"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0---Q97pG4

neat version of Margaritaville - listen for the changes to the words - but really included it because of the diversity in the Today Show audience - - seem at all familiar ?

About now I started thinking I should move this to the "other music" section but Taylor has compared
the SP to the Parrotheads several times so decided it was OK to leave it in a Taylor related place
and Taylor has said he hopes we have as much fun as they do - - well hell yes ! !

Check these out - - - next time some article snarks on the SP I'm sending the writer one of these   Wink

Fins Video In Concert - seems to be from Sept 2006
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNrM7DnYz4Y

Love this song and dearly hope Taylor has one like it and is singing it to a huge crowd of loyal, fun fans years from now - - and you kids better send a vid to me "in the home" Haha
favorite line - - -  "it's the child in us we really value"

"Here We Are" from "Party at the End of the World" 2006 tour
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjRklVfny2A

So how do we get Taylor to do a concert like this in say - February ?  Smile
Jimmy Buffett - Live in Anguilla - 24 March 2007.

And it must be mandated by the Parrot code that anything to do with Mr. Buffett end with this song  - -
which I wouldn't mind Taylor closing out a show with either - -  especially if he and the band would let the NESP buy them a drink or two after the show Grin

NOTE TO AMY:
saw your other post and am heading over to Rhapsody to check it out - TY
Artist: Alan Jackson
Album: Don't Rock The Jukebox
Title: Midnight In Montgomery
Appropriate for the past week or so...

Taylor should definitely cover Billy Joel's My Life. Fits quite perfectly!
Well, I understand he did one of my picks in Tupelo the other day, Joe Cocker's "Feeling Alright."

The other Cocker song I would love, "You Can Leave Your Hat On." Now that would be hot!

Love Cocker - he is rarely off my playlists and You Can Leave Your Hat On is one of my favorites - the beat, the lyrics - to my mind one of the most suggestive, sexiest songs ever -

would love to hear what Taylor would do with it - - even a long tag would be interesting yes ? ? - -
