That seemed like a fun idea to explore so have at it folks - - -
here's my # 1 pick - -
I've been wishing / whining / begging for I Shall Be Released ever since December. Can't get the Christmas Jam group sing out of my head !
Taylor had just a short solo but his voice is so distinctive you could hear him over the others in a lot of it and his solo was So Damn Good !
Have wanted to hear him do the whole song ever since. Have sampled a lot of versions and have found a few that I like but nothing as good as I think Taylor can deliver it.
He included Dylan's version in his Playlist at Rhapsody so I keep hoping it will turn up some time - preferably in New England - but I'd be happy with a dusting - or a "dewey audio " would be great..
here's a link to a whole list you can sample

There is one by Edwin McCain & John Popper but unfortunately it's earlier not the 2006 Christmas Jam - -
I like Cocker's version a lot [ with me that's a " well Duh ! "] - - and Nina Simone's is very good ! - - Jack Johnson's is nice but seems kind of - emotionless ? - -
others I found interesting are The Long Ryders - - Pearls Before Swine - - and The Youngbloods - the lead is a tenor but not as rich as Taylor's voice
and yes, know Aaron Neville is a tenor too but he always seems to add too many pointless flourishes to his songs for my taste - - -
and "Released "in particular needs some real "from the gut" feeling which is precisely what Taylor gave it - - - -
This is a link to Taylor's suggested playlist if you're curious - -

hadn't played Marc Broussard's Home for a while - wouldn't exactly mind a Taylor version of that either - - if you haven't heard it do yourself a Big favor and have a listen ! !
BTW - I feel like I should do a disclaimer - I do not work for or own stock in Rhapsody - really ! ! - it just usually has whatever I'm looking for - links easily - and people can hear a whole song

You are right "Home" is a fabulous song, and Taylor would do it well..
I can imagine it with just bass, guitar, percussion and Brian L on the organ.. a spare swampy arrangement, so the vocals would dominate.

This has been said before, but I'd really like to see a Live version of Southbound from him...

My number one pick is Night Moves (Bob Seger) but I would be thrilled with any Seger song.
Someday, even if it's 3 years from now, I WILL be there when Taylor sings one!
I have been wanting Supertramp and/or Doobie Brothers since Taylor puts these into the set list every so often but not at the 4 shows I've seen so far!
Others would be Ain't No Sunshine and a full version of Let's Get It on...not just a quick tease!

They would need security if he ever did the full version
I think Hold On or Soothe Me by Sam and Dave would be awesome

I'm still hoping for Try a Little Tenderness. The entire version, not just the shortened one he did on AI. Or maybe a little Aerosmith or CCR.

Oh yes. Or even better a "medley" with You Send Me.
Perhaps once he's got enough miles between himself and the TV show, he can sing these songs in concert again. I'm grateful he still does Taking it to the Streets in semi-regular rotation. The song belongs to him, not to the TV show.
Sometimes a person just needs to reclaim ownership.

Where do I start???
Let's Get It On full version. Would have to be the encore, or we'd never
see the rest of the concert
Supertramp-dying to hear Take The Long Way Home!
Sweet Home Alabama!! Is there a special reason he never does this?
Places I've Been
Feelin' Alright
But really, he can sing anything his heart desires and I'll love it

and thought this was a good version to link - - since Taylor has mentioned liking the artist - - not being snarky - it's a good rendition worth a listen
