He sounds like he is in a good place with himself right now and I love that he keeps bringing up the new album. I am DYING to know what he put on it. He is teasing us AGAIN. Grin
Thank you for finding this! I've been waiting for some press like this to show up!

Not only great news about the CD, but the 4th of July performances in Washington, DC. I hope PBS shows us more than just "This Land is Your Land".

Quote:
Taylor will join such stars as Huey Lewis and Jerry Lee Lewis on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol and he will be performing "This Land is Your Land" as well as songs "Dancing in the Dark" and "Heaven Knows."

Dive into acting???? Hmmmm.
I sure wish he'd stop making comments like "DIVE INTO ACTING" he's making me really nervous.crying Yes he is so good at whatever he seems to set his mind on but......geezzz and why ishe starting to go on tour in the fall and then kids are in school, then next thing its's shitty weather IT JUST ISN'T GOOD FOR MY SCHEDULE and then come next spring he'll be burnt out from touring take next summer off too.GAWD I NEED A FIX BAD..He's got his timing all wrong can't he figure that one out! Sorry just had to vent this morning does anyone else feel the way I do?

I would love to see him act. But I'd prefer to see him take the Jon Bon Jovi approach. I think he has a lot of passion and would be a very good actor.

As far as the CD and touring. The time schedule I have always thought about for this next CD and touring is CD in the winter and touring in the spring/summer, just like last time. It's going to be tough waiting that long, but I think that's much more realistic. Who knows, he could surprise us and actually stick to the schedule he's mentioned. Roll Eyes I do hope he give us some crumbs in the fall, like the Early Works and the Whomp DVD.

I really need to work for him! Haha

He has said many times now "CD and tour in the fall" so if that gets pushed to spring/summer '09, his word will lose credibility with me and others. I know things happen and things get delayed, but I really don't think Taylor is a BS artist and I am counting on his word....CD this fall. Don't know what has become of WATW.

As far as acting....it would be very cool to see him act, whatever he wants to do is great AS LONG AS it doesn't take the place of music in his life. I can't imagine anything taking music's place but you never know....one acclaimed movie role and he could get stars in his eyes and who knows?

I have too many people in my real world to worry about, I love Taylor and trust he will continue to make the right choices for himself. I just want him to be happy and keep singing to me until I'm pushing up daisies. Heart
I think Taylor should do whatever the hell he wants. He's got ADD, supposedly, and if that manifests itself by him jumping from project to project, then so be it. I do the same thing, and I am sick and tired of my parents and other judgmental people telling me I need to pick one thing and stick to it. I don't, because I'm a creative, intelligent person. So is Taylor. We've both survived this long, and we will continue to. As for scheduling, it's not only Taylor that's in charge of his schedule. He has to go where the venues are open, when they're open, and where he can sell tickets, and he needs an actual album to be selling on tour. I am pretty sure he's saturated his current fanbase with his current and past releases. I want something new, but I'll wait for it, because I understand the creative process and the physical, temporal and financial limits on recording an album. I usually wait several years between albums and tours from my other favorite artists, so no. big. deal.

NO, this is not a personal attack on anyone. It's an attack on everyone, maybe. Feel free to blame my cranky mood on the heat.

Many excellent points, and I don't see this as an attack on anyone at all, it just had to be said. This point you made is critical:

Artists, good ones anyway, do not release an album every year. I think two years is the norm. When would it be two years, December 2008. If you can just churn out CD after CD you are either the most talent person there is, or you are putting out crap. I think for the ones that do, it's the latter.

We got so used to him being in our living rooms every week, then he was plastered all over every magazine and on every TV show, then he toured. We were spoiled. There was always something new and exciting in Taylorland. Our love for him is what pushes us to want more stuff NOW!!!! But, everyone has to remember, he's doing this on his own now. Recording and marketing costs money. And contrary to many people's opinions, I am pretty damn sure he's not exactly rolling in it! I think Grease is a way to finance his future endeavors and just have a fun summer in NYC. He deserves it, doesn't he?

Off my cold medicine soap box now. Wink

I think we're all cranky because a year ago we were about to
attend two concerts and were planning for about 4 more as well.w00tbounce We are spoiled rotten! I think the only cure is to put our resources together and figure out how to hire Taylor to play for us this fall. He'll be in the area anyway Highfive

Also wondering if he'll be invited to the Big E again this year?!?!?

I also feel let him do whatever the hell he wants. He always takes
us to interesting places.Grin Imagine if his dive into acting involved a
weekly TV show? Thud I also agree with people that have mentioned it, that it would be very cool to see him doing occasional
music festivals with his peers, even if he weren't touring officially.
He'd make some great connections which I'm sure he needs in that
business!! Wink
