Interesting to read when everyone became a goner. Grin I became addicted to the show early on and made it part of my schedule. We have really cool neighbors and we would rotate dinner between their house and ours and watch the show. Taylor definately caught our eye from the get go but I wasn't making it a point to sit down and watch. I was doing things and listening at the same time. Well when he sang "You Are So Beautiful" I had my back to the tv and I swear my heart skipped a beat or something. It sounds so damn corny but I'm gonna call that my first thud and I didn't even know what that meant at the time. After that I went to sit on the couch and watch the rest of the performance. I had to really SEE him from that point on.

I watched the rest of the season and voted and was so happy that he won and in my head that was it for me in regards to Taylor. I had no intentions of seeing the AI tour even after all that. Then the man shows up in my dream and well I saw that was another thread here so I'll save it for over there. I'm laughing at how "busy" I was with real life and clearly this man's music was speaking to my soul like "Lighten up, take a break, enjoy this music like you used to do you crazy woman."
My first Thud was You Are So Beautiful during AI. I just thought he was fun to watch before that. I'd been on the AI boards some and read other women talking about how hot he was and I didn't get it. But after YASB I was a goner. The next week, we were eating dinner on the couch during the show and when Taylor came on to sing, I just stared at the screen. My husband said, "What's the matter with you? You aren't even chewing." Rotfl I was way gone by then. Thud
my heart first skipped a beat when I watched him before he even opened his mouth sitting all by his lonesome self...I became Sally Brown with little hearts all around me. But I burst into tears when he sang Something I melted like a little girl when he sang You sssssssend me.

I agree--reading this thread and reliving the experience makes me want to go and rewatch all those AI performances. He has shown us how much MORE he does and what he does to entertain his fans. He loves us and we, undeniably, adore him! And we will keep thudding (and thudding and so on and so on) for as long as we can!

(sniff-sniff)Its nice to thud down memory lane, but, AI will never be the same and we all just miss him crying! He gets such a kick outta his Soul Patrol--you know (forgive me if Ive repeated myself on this), he likened us to Deadheads...a neat "Travelling Circus" Highfive, if you will.

I know I thud because of his sheer beauty, but its also because of how he has shown us his soul--at least the part that he wants us to see. And how he knows its all about the music and the fans. He knows, better than anyone, if it wasnt for his fans, he's still be a "broke musician".

...thank you for letting me pontificate and excuse me whilst I THUD TO SOME AI TAYLOR!!w00tw00tbounceThud
I was taken with the man early on when he started with "Levon" - HAD to see what this guy would do, but the first THUD....

fist thud was "Livin for the City" - Taylor-Go-Round dance move in that suit - I had never seen such a thing - sorta dorky, sorta hot - definitely Thud-worthy.

Each week had its own collection of THUDS whether it was a facial expression or a dance move - I didn't miss one show the year of Taylor. I rewatched every week - I still like to go back - always brings a smile. Some major THUDS in "Somehow", "Trouble", "Ghetto", & all the others too .... now I wanna watch again Thud.
I rewatched over at u-tube...How in the world did I forget Try a Little Tenderness??? and I loved all of his moments. The man is just beautiful in every sense of the word. He is a Michael Angelo masterpiece come to life. I cant wait until we all get to share another "Taylorized" moment. Stoll hoping he'll show up somewhere during the reunion.
Taylor is beautiful on the inside too.
The fact that he is not a perfectly chiseled pretty boy who is overly concerned with his looks makes him all the more attractive to me. He is tall and handsome as we know but his spirit and talent and drive and intellect and humor make him beautiful to me.
He "cleans up" so well for certain performances / appearances that he is indeed gorgeous on the outside but I would never "thud" over a dumb ass or a cocky "metrosexual" or a shallow jerk.
Do you understand my point of view?
It's the total package. Wink

Very VERY well said! The total package--thats what we love and "THUD" for...

I just rewatched on You Tube my first thud ("Easy")...and he looked so cute when he winks at some chick in the audience at the beginning of the song (I think its right after he sings the first line of the tune)...oh, so sexy and he makes me smile and he makes me laugh...

the total package...and he wasnt as "cleaned up" as he is now with the bowl haircut!Haha

after watch AI last night...I REALLY MISS TAYLOR!!!!...he is just so full of life...although David Cook did make me cry...as he cried for his brother last night. But NONE of them gave me that WOW factor.
