HARMONY FOR THE SOUL ANNOUNCES CHANGE OF DATE FOR NATIONAL SOUL PATROL CONVENTION TO BENEFIT KID ONE TRANSPORT

Fresno, CA –May 21, 2007— Harmony for the Soul announced today that it is rescheduling its National Soul Patrol Convention from September 8th, 2007, to May 2008.  The event will be held in Birmingham, Alabama. The group is currently working with organizers at Kid One Transport to find a date which may be more amenable to Taylor Hicks’ schedule, increasing the likelihood of his involvement in the event.  The new spring date will also ensure that Harmony for the Soul has adequate time to secure additional bands, entertainment, and sponsorship which will make the event one to remember for Taylor’s fans and supporters of Kid One Transport.
  
As Harmony for the Soul founder and president Candy Golden notes, “Our goal here at Harmony is to hold an event where all Soul Patrollers and fans alike can come together and celebrate our love of Taylor Hicks and to support a worthwhile charity in his name. We have enjoyed so much support for this event from fans, sponsors, and musicians and look forward to future collaborations as we finalize plans for this event.”

About Harmony for the Soul
Harmony for the Soul is a non-profit organization dedicated to organizing a National Soul Patrol Convention, an event which has two primary aims: 1.) To serve as a social connection/networking opportunity for American Idol winner Taylor Hicks’ legions of fans known as the “Soul Patrol”; and most importantly, 2.) To raise money for Kid One Transport, a non-profit organization endorsed by Hicks and his fans, which provides free medical transportation to children and expectant mothers in Alabama, allowing them to receive the essential healthcare they need and deserve.

I had already made reservations for this...BUMMER! But, good if Taylor can be there too! AGH! sooo torn...does anyone know what we need to do now with the reservations...or is Pat on top of it??!!??!

I think that's a smart move. The more time to prepare, the better
attendance, and better chance Taylor will be there. People aren't
going to want to spend tons of cash and travel and take time off if
he's not a part of it, IMO. :woohoo: Gives us a chance to
build up NESP more too (refraining from brain storming lol
my brain is fried)

I'm soooooo glad this got moved!! I wasn't able to go in September due to my work schedule. This will give me time to save up the money to go AND get time off from work. I'm pysched!!

Since I am part of the planning committee (as is AgingHippie), any questions that you've got...please post them here or PM me and I will answer as soon as possible (if I can!).

Thanks guys for your support...I wouldn't have been able to attend in Sept and neither was Taylor (that's Woodstock weekend if you recall...).

I feel a road trip coming here! I couldn't do September either, but next May is a definite possibility. We should rent a bus and have all of NESP go together!

I like your thinking Deb...but a plane would be much more convenient! Maybe Taylor will just let us charter something...

Spring is better for me too. I agree that most people will want to go if Taylor is part of it ! I hope it works out that he can be there next May!
