How can we get rado stations to play Taylors music?
Has anyone else had problems when they try?
Every place I call ( and I have called most in this area), I get the same answer.....I don't believe we have any of his music yet? What the heck is up with that?
Or I get, "We only play country", "We are strictly classic rock",or "We can try to fit something in if we have some".
Any ideas what I can do to wake up Vermont?

I sent an email to a "local" station yesterday. (local is a loose term...it's 60 miles away but I can hear it so to me that is local) The first response to my "could you please play Taylor's new single that he performed on the American Idol finale" was "I believe Taylor did a cover song that isn't available for play...it's not recorded." I corrected the DJ but still didn't get the answer I wanted.
That was WCRQ 102.9. They did play Just to Feel That Way a couple of times because I heard it on there. Maybe they just don't have Heaven Knows yet? Is 5/28 the impact date?

There have been some reports of radio stations already playing Heaven Knows but they are probably doing it on their own. And amyrebo is right - - the adds date is 5/28 and have also seen one electronic packet for radio stations that says 5/29 - - and it is being promoted to AC stations again - -
but weirdly there seems to be some suggestion that they may be feeling out some country markets too - - could understand TPIB or even TRP - - but HK ? ? ?
So if a station does everything by digital download and says they don't have it yet - don't dig out the tinfoil hats - they really may not have it yet

Here is what Taylor's management suggests for requesting, as per email from them. I know we are probably arleady doing this on our own, but with the recent confusion over JTFTW and radio requesting, this helps make it simple and clear for all:
"If you want to hear the song, call your local AC and Hot AC stations to request ithout being too aggressive, demanding and overbearing."
and this guide at Whomp Swamp is still just as valid for requesting HK as it was for JTFTW

Hey Girls...
I've had great luck at 96.1 WSRS... they've played every time I've requested JTFTW... They have a noon and 5 pm request hour every weekday...
I'm also in touch with the Prog Director there, and he's waiting for me to send him the digital link, one JRecords releases it on Monday...I hope! This is how I sent it to him before, and I hope J does it again like this...they NEVER got the CD sent to them, sooooo I might stop by and drop off one with some goodies for the DJ's! WOOOO!!!!

I don't even listen to the radio much anymore, but airplay is important
so it's great people are up on this.
