We just received this message about Mary Beth from Suzanne:

I just heard yesterday that she is getting weaned off her C-PAC and is wrapping up another round of chemotherapy. Unfortunately her prognosis remains unchanged. Keep the prayers coming, that is always a surefire way of helping, and if you have time to write a letter, that will always put a smile on her face.

Keep the prayers going Soul Patrol. Make a difference!
Karen,
I have an account with American Greetings for online cards - some of which are animated - -

if there is an email address I can use please PM me with it and I'll set up some to go out over a period of time

thanks
AH

For those of you that have been writing to the sweet 16 year old with cancer, here is an update. Though it is very sad news, you all need to know that the memories you have given her family and the joy you brought to Mary Beth in her final days are a gift like no other.

Thank you to all who helped her on her journey home.

*** From Suzanne Thrash

Thank you so much for putting a smile on her face in her final days. Please pass this on to the Soul Patrol.

Hugs -
Suzanne

Suzanne and Marion - I thought that both of you would want to know that Mary Beth passed away peacefully on Monday September 3, 2007 at 3:45 p.m.

Here was an email message from her mother, Leslie:

I wish to thank everyone who has been praying for her and sending her cards and
letters over the past several months. She has truly enjoyed her time with the
mail each day and it brought joy to her to read it. She was amazed at how many
people who didn't know her would pray for her and send her cards from all over
the world. The outreach to her was unbelievable.

Her passing this week was unexpected so she was not afraid and was in no pain.
She died from complications with her lung disease as her cancer was maintaining
a stable status. I guess you could say that the treatment was what took her
life in the end. Mary Beth would have been 17 years old on October 2.

Funeral arrangements will be made tomorrow with visitation on Wednesday and
funeral service on Thursday. Her obituary should be in the Birmingham News on
Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

God bless each of you for your support of her and our family.

Leslie
