Hey Everyone
Our friend and neighbor is Mary Beth. She is 16 and has been fighting cancer for a year and half now. Her prognosis is not good. She has recently developed a lung disease as well which has made treatments even more challenging and intense. She remains on oxygen. She has been given the option to keep fighting or not even though the odds are truly stacked against her. She has chosen to keep on fighting. In an effort to help Mary Beth, her support team is asking everyone we know to just drop Mary Beth a letter, a note or card with a word of encouragement. Mail cheers her up so much and has helped her in her fight. I know you don't know her, but that doesn't matter. She will really appreciate your thought and effort.
Feel free to send this email to your friends and family as well. Our goal is for her to get a letter from every state in the US and even from other countries. So pass this along.

....make sure that each Soul Patroller marks their letter in some way where she knows it's from you guys. It's doesn't have to be a long note, just a very short note telling her that we are proud that she has chosen to fight and she has more support than she'll ever know.
Here's what you can do:
Send Mary Beth a note saying "Hi" and let her know we're behind her. Tell her she has the support from all corners of the country and that she is very important to us. Make it fun and uplifting. Encourage her in her fight. She's 16, so have fun with it, put stickers, or fun pictures in your message. Make sure she knows you're a member of the soul patrol and where you're from. She loves to receive mail and will have so much fun seeing it come in from all across the country. This is a surprise and even her mother doesn't know we're doing this! How fun!!
Encourage her to keep up the fight! We have to do this. Imagine your 16 year old child in this situation. May Beth is in a fight for her life and we can bring joy to her by mailing her cards and letters of encouragement, how can we not do this? Children like Mary Beth are why we came together in the first place and this is our opportunity to reach out and make a difference.
Give this young girl your support, it's the least we can do. Show her that you care. Do it now because as the note said, we don't know how much time she has left. Please don't put this off, do it now. She needs them to start rolling in within a week.
