Tricia, Very cool idea-maybe NESPers could personalize the boxes
with fun stuff. Haha can we get some funky old style retro lunchboxes and stuff them with snacks? Put musical stuff on them?
That would be fun, creative, and yummy Highfive

Okay Liz, this is why we work together so well, one of us gets an idea, the other kicks it up a notch. Haha

I would love to be involved in pulling this together.

Oriental Trading has cheap lunch boxes, and I saw another idea
where they made a movie night in a lunch box gift. If a DVD would
fit in the tin, we could add a music dvd (ie famous guitar, drum, sax
player type thing) with the goodies. They all have dvd players on the
bus, I think. Then we could personalize the boxes for each band
member and Taylor. I don't have a dvd handy to measure, but I
think they might fit...

I agree Tricia, little ideas turn into awesome ones with all the feedback
from everyone Highfive
I may have a possiblity - will have to check it out - we have Dish"s high def package and there are two concert channels with Rave being the better one.

I record to watch later all the time but I have never tried burning a DVD off a high def recording - not sure how much it would degrade it but if there is a way to get good quality I could do some concerts with multiple copies - - of course not sure how they would feel about anything that would be for sale being pirated so might stick to the older ones

there is an amazing older one with Joss Stone and Mavis Staples that hopefully is still up
also one with John Meyer and Keb'Mo', there are two Michael McDonald ones they have in rotation and a rather frail Billy Preston is a guest on one of them,

the Rob Thomas 2006 concert just finished a run - it was so fun to see boogie - had forgotten he played with him last summer and was just sitting there thinking gee those moves look familiar when they did a close up and oh yeah ! !  - LOL  - - I told him about it before the concert in Hyannis - - he laughed and said he hadn't even seen the footage yet - WTH ? why wouldn't he be given a copy ? ?

there are just so many I can't even think of them - - and of course the Jool's Holland shows are great -- arrgh

but the creme de la creme - - begining Friday night there will be at least a week's run of the whole freaking Warren Haynes 2006 Christmas Jam concert and my alert even says with Taylor Hicks

I rarely use these but   Woohoo  Woohoo

anyway what do you think ? ? should I try and see what I can get ? ? or is it in bad taste to give burned concerts to working musicians ? ?
AH: If you succeed in making a DVD of the 2006 Christmas Jam, you will be able to sell those on EBay and make enough $$ to finance the rest of the summer tour! I know everyone here will want them, right?
Let's try to figure out where we're at on gifts...

Maybe the stool could be for Concord, as we're doing the music
school thing and it would kind of tie in...

I think the quilt is a go for Big E and we have time to work on that.

I ordered 3 books that we can use for one show-maybe RI? Jimmy
Buffetts Tales from Margaritaville (stories from his life on the road, etc.)
a Ray Charles book, and Guerilla Marketing for Musicians. We could
add some little things.

If Linda can figure out the DVDs that could work for Portland.

Can people attending CT come up with a little something from NESP
so we're covered at all his shows?

Any other ideas welcome-let's pull it together though so we know
we're covered. Once we're set there we'll do the same for the band
stuff.
Hey MaryBeth,
am bringing your suggestion posted on the Big E thread over here to add to the discussion - - laughed when I saw it because my son had suggested the idea of us signing a shirt for Taylor after he saw someone with one Taylor had signed at the Cape shows - did I mention I have a cool kid ? Cool

have been crazy busy and  had forgotten all about it - - -  am so glad you suggested it - - - absolutely agree we should do this ! ! !

Maybe because this is the last show for a while maybe we could get a NESP t-shirt and bring it around to the next shows in NE and get a fabric marker and let everyone sign it and give it to Taylor or one for each member or the band. We also might get t-shirt Taylor out of it also. Mybe it would be a nice send off.

Mary Beth

Fabric marker - -  silver ? ? purple ? ? silver ? ? purple ? ?  silver ? ? purple ? ?  - -

seems like we've stumbled into "southern purple" being our trademark color - - 1st the beads, then the great water bottles, the cowbells, Liz's super glow bracelets idea   [the band - or at least Brian - knows that's a way to spot us now I think ] - - - so guess I would go with purple

and as far as NESP shirts - - do we really have to look any further than what Tricia has already done ? ?
I love what she did with the water bottles - - think it would translate perfectly to a T-shirt - - and we've already used a "silvery gray" shirt color so why not keep a consistent  "look" going ? ? ? ?  Smile

only thing I wish we would look at is finding a V-neck or a scoop neck shirt - have noticed a lot of us wear them -  they are much more flattering for almost all women than the crew neck  [ as the What Not To Wear duo would point out Tongue ]

made a photcopy from the bottle and have played with it on a v-neck and think it would work with only minor tweaking  - - the star shooting up the shoulder looks really cool and kinda classy - - just like us right ?
or could put the logo and the travel saying on the back and just have NESP on the front ? ?
then if they wanted to people could even have their name embroidered under it by a local shop ?

T shirts for band and Taylor signed by us very fun idea! Devil Plus
they're affordable and the girl here can make them again if we want.
She gave us a good price.

LOVE the journal idea, especially specifically for music. We could
make our own kit for him with journal, pens, and music paper, etc.
Yes, we did want to personalize the seat. I had a nice one that I had found but suddenly the link wouldn't work. It was a nice black leather seat and metal frame. I liked the idea of having Modern Whomp on it or even Got Soul?

PM me grimsby...tell me what you're thinking! Smile
Apologize for not going and finding the names but remember seeing a couple of posts suggesting it would be funny to give Taylor a new fugly shirt but the ones they had seen were pretty pricey

was in JC Penney's today and saw some that would work - - they are by Pierre Cardin, a good quality rayon fabric that drapes nicely and are 55% off making one doable as a joke

have a choice of   raised eyebrows fugly,  regular fugly,  or double F fugley

there are also some 100% cotton ones - - designs and fabric quality not as good though

if anyone really wants to do this let me know

could complete the joke with copies of the pix of him wearing the fuglies and a note saying we miss them Roll Eyes
