I do wonder if he reads music. Even if he doesn't read the usual staves, maybe he reads harmonica tablature and guitar tab (a whole different animal, I do not read either, but I can read C clef!)....... If he doesn't read/write traditional notes, manuscript is still useful as lined paper! I took notes on it all thru college.
the lettering is going around the edge of the seat - is that right ? what if this was spaced out around it ? if need more to make it look right could spell out NESP

re: the stool....I like the idea of New England Soul Patrol written around the band of the leather seat. Big enough for everyone to see if they are close enough....
How about "Modern Whomp" or "Whomp" on the seat or....
"Property of Taylor Hicks" on the seat
Agree about the no button......don't want that seat to be uncomfortable

OK - Stool topic here - What to say on the seat?!? There are two definite possibilities:
Around the edge and most visible - New England Soul Patrol
OR
The various musical styles that Taylor put into Modern Whomp - blues, jazz, swamp, etc
The seat itself if we do the musical styles could obviously say New England Soul Patrol.
If we put NESP around the edge of the seat - what would the top say? One suggestion was Property of Taylor Hicks. I suppose we could just put Modern Whomp or We heart Modern Whomp.
