As a newbie, I certainly would agree with your philosophy. Some of the sites are getting out of hand with their bickering and negative posts. I am certainly not that type of fan, and I thank you for bringing it to the attention of myself and the other "newbies" who recently joined..

Glad everyone agrees with the general philosophy I think
most of the sites feel the same way and do moderate to keep the
negativity at a low level. Ironically, the worst one is HQ because I
don't think the mods there are into watching that closely and there are
some loose cannon fans that like to start stuff. I wish there would be
more respect there as it's his own site!

I really like this site! Everyone is so positive and nice. And it's all about what we can do for Taylor! Sounds good to me!

I get so distressed when I read how even Taylor's fans turn on him if things get cancelled even when they are out of Taylor's control. I nearly cry when I read anything negative about Taylor. I've stopped going to all but 1-2 other forums but need to think about stopping those and sticking to only NESP. Even THH can be vicious!

How do y'all handle negative criticism regarding Taylor? I do want to read how his career is progressing but hate the negative comments.

I don't pay a lot of attention. I have seen enough shows and listened to enough music, I can judge it for myself. I know a lot of the music critics out there are more concerned with appearing cool.

I also take heart that Taylor seems to be doing exactly what he wants. He doesn't want to be opening for another band in a sports arena where we'd have to watch him on the Jumbotron. He wants to play in places where he can see the audience, and they can see him. He's happy, he puts on great shows, and I'm happy.

I agree with Margaux-he's happy and in control of his career and so
I'm happy for him.

It is distressing to read negative stuff about him because we adore him
so much. I know some NESP people are the ones going into these negative places "incognito" and putting a positive spin on things
and I think that's great.

It does work best to ignore the bad stuff-there will always be people
that enjoy being negative-just be glad you're not one of them.

He is happy, isn't he? That is what he says all the time. He also says he doesn't pay attention to critics because he learned in his 10 years prior to idol that this is what a career in music entails. I wish I were as tough skinned as he!

I realize I am a newbie but wanted to tell you that your post was beautifully written...this is a very fun, comfortable, classy site. I feel the same way about all of the angst....we are here to celebrate Taylor and his music and ENJOY!!!

Well I have enjoyed the welcome atmospher here at NESP....I have had to join certain boards to clarify some things, because myself and the magazine I am trying to launch have been slamed by people I don't even know....Í'm sure that in their mind they think that they are in some way protecting Taylor or fellow fans, but some of the things said are just mean spirited. But I do have great supporters that have had my back on those boards and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. Because at certain points I was going to give up, but Taylor is just soooo worth it.....that they will not get me down.
