I think it might be the venues too-Live Nation promotes certain venues
from what I understand...

Hanging flyers and posters at record stores is a great idea....Strawberries, Newbury Comics, FYE and more! Smile

Last week I went in search of a Strawberries I knew of up north.. alas it was gone! There are no more Strawberries in New Hampshire!! Sad

FYE doesn't have any posters for any shows.

All the Starbucks I've been in have "community bulletin boards". We could definitely hit every Starbucks from Freeport to southern NH. I'm sure other coffee/bagel shops do (unfortunately not the Dunkin Donut places..)

What I need now is a poster/flyer about 1/4 the size of the posters we have now, and something I could take to Kinkos to run off copies.

Can you reduce the poster/flyer you have then copy it?

Email it to me and I'll see what I can do.....

The one near the Bangor Mall has been gone for 4 - 5 years now - - if you'd like an insight into why places like this have disappeared go read this piece on WhompSwamp - - Sad

this is a nice smaller poster that might be adapted by someone clever enought to lift the picture and redo on with the venue info on a white background -- - it eats up ink like a sponge right now

Strawberries is gone from the Bangor Mall area but there is a very cool Bullmoose Music across the way! I will stop there on Saturday to see what their policy is about concert posters.

The Strawberries in Ellsworth is also going out of business...
I guess I am dating myself with the mention of Strawberries records and tapes (as they were known) but I think there are still 2 or 3 stores in MA. We have a Bullmoose Music in town too...just a mile down the road from Newbury Comics but the clientelle (sp?) at Bullmoose doesn't look like the type who would even know who Taylor is....but anything may help sell tickets. Cool

Karen, I'd be interested in knowing how hard the promoter is working on this! Sad
We had a Strawberries here in town, it is still there but now called FYE.
We used to have another called Coconuts. I think they're still here.
Where are you getting the 1/4 size posters? I could use a couple and put them around town advertising the Concord show.
Yeah, Karen...update us on the conference call! And I want some of those fliers too! Actually, I could probably use another 8-10 posters...
Hi Guys,

Thank you SO MUCH for all of your awesome ideas!

The promoters are working with radio stations, newspapers and other media. I know there will be some radio promotions where they will be giving away tickets and meet and greets. A lot goes on behind the scenes with the promoters. These guys are new to this and are learning – they are not a Live Nation by any means. The artist often books the venue first, and the promoter comes next. That is the case for Chakra in this situation.

If you have specific questions on these 2 shows or the promotion, please feel free to email me or PM me. I will be glad to get right back to you! It is easier for me to address individual questions via email or PM.

Okay, Here's the scoop on the last 48 hours of my life which should make you laugh a little: ( I have been offline for 2 days. I'm visiting family in Michigan and I couldn't get my laptop to hook up to others' wireless networks. I think I'm the most technically-challenged person in the world. I'm back online and feel like I have reconnected with earth! And that was only part of it. Then - I dropped my cell phone in my sister's dog's water dish and fried it. So I was without a cell phone for 36 hours. I had to go to Verizon and upgrade because they don't make my cell model any longer - it is out of warranty so it cost me $200. But I'm still smiling.GrinWhy? Because IT IS ALL GOOD!) Right?w00t
